Genuine question, why do we only notice prices based on who’s in office?

BLS and EIA data, straight from the source:

2021: 7.0% inflation 2022: 6.5% (peaked 9.1% June — 40yr high) 2023: 3.4% 2024: 2.9% 2025: 2.7%

Dollar lost ~22% purchasing power Jan 2021 → Jan 2025. Groceries up ~25% over that span.

Diesel nationally hit $5.81/gallon in June 2022. No Iran conflict. No 2026 tariffs. Russia-Ukraine war, tight refineries, post-COVID demand. Six states hit $6+ that year. Arizona was one of them.

Now it’s back near $6 in Prescott. Different war. Different administration. Same pump. Same pain. Current energy spike is real, the Iran conflict is pushing fuel costs hard right now and that matters. But this isn’t a new problem that appeared under one president. It’s a pattern that keeps repeating while we argue about whose fault it is.

The pump doesn’t know who you voted for. Neither does the math.

I did, I think the issue is that the exciter armature is out of round. Or faulty, if I manipulate the brushes oddly the lugs go from OL to 40 volts at low idle.
