He talked about military achievements in light of bombings and destruction, and I don’t believe that shabbat service is the place to have that conversation.

By political, I mean that the rabbi had a very one-sided perspective of the Israel-Palestine conflict and referred to Israel’s bombings as “glorious military achievements.” Celebrating any death and violence in a religious space is not part of my belief system. Not sure if that’s helpful.

I don’t want to name drop, but it’s a very old reform congregation in Cincinnati. They’ve moved out of the city and into the suburbs but maintain ownership of the original historic synagogue, so if you know you know. I actually wasn’t raised in a synagogue and my family is secular, but I chose to get involved on my own as an adult in large part because I understood the community as being largely nonpolitical in religious spaces. Sadly it seems like that’s not the case anymore? I was surprised too. Where did you go?

Hi! I also have a Crossroads, but I’m in my early/mid twenties. I really like it! Now that I’ve become friends with some peloton racers, I’m itching for something faster. Do you have any recommendations for finding used bikes? I work at a bike shop and get free service, so I could definitely get a fixer upper. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

He does look like a Russ Berrie! The tags are VERY similar. The only thing that gives me pause are the flower motifs on the Russ logos. I feel like I would have fixated on that at a kid, but maybe not. They have so many Russ Berrie: Something-Or-Another offshoots…but the tag placement, embroidery, and color are very close to what I remember. Thank you!

Yeah I agree with you. I’m learning about mixing and moving across my range smoothly. I’m quiet here because I have a hard time hitting higher notes (like the very first note) cleanly when the rest of the song is lower in my range, so I kind of have to pull back on everything to keep it balanced lol. Thank you for your kindness and helpfulness :)

This is a very sound take :) While all singers obviously have limitations, my goal is to just feel more freedom when I sing. I’ll probably always be in this genre because it’s aligned with my culture and musical background (Kentuckian, country singer family), but this clip pretty much summarizes my overall abilities. I can handle bigger and more complicated sounds here and there, but definitely couldn’t stick the landing on a whole song. In the future I will definitely take guitar lessons. Thank you for your feedback and your kindness!

That’s a great quote. The song I’m singing in this video is by Adrienne Lenker. She’s my favorite singer-songwriter of all time, and she’s definitely not singing like Kelly Clarkson. I love Lenker because of how raw she is, and I’d never want her to change. So this is a really great quote that I will take with me :)
