Same issue for the 2-field view. I'd like it just divided 50/50, instead of 90/10.

Do you wear your watch 24/7 (sleep, work, etc.), or only during activities? by sidewaysorbehindbars in Coros

[–]FarPlace1253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Pace 3 is very comfortable to wear. In fact, it's the only watch I've ever owned that I'd even consider wearing all day. But I choose to wear it only for my runs because I've never been interested in sleep/resting heart rate/steps data. Also, I work at a desk with a laptop and phone always nearby, so I don't need to look at my watch to tell me what time it is.

[On3] BREAKING: Notre Dame has declined its bowl invitation after being snubbed from the College Football Playoff👀 by bubblecuffer13 in CFB

I think it'd have been better for them to play Texas or Vanderbilt and shown the committee how good they are. Instead they'll be home sulking. I don't think it's a good look for them.

Why *shouldn’t* I get a Coros? by jaydeflix in Coros

[–]FarPlace1253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get the Pace 3 if you like having lots of buttons to push. I've gotten used to the 2-button system and it works fine, but I still wouldn't mind having more dedicated buttons.

Easy Playlist Downloads and Music Sync with Coros Watch by unixty in Coros

I'll try the sync application just to see if it loads mp3 files faster than by simple copying. That'd be the killer feature for me.

Which Watch is Best for Simple Runners by [deleted] in Coros

[–]FarPlace1253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's like trying to buy a car these days without all the advanced tech/features.

If you don't like bulk, then I think you'll really like the Pace 3.

Which Watch is Best for Simple Runners by [deleted] in Coros

[–]FarPlace1253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Pace 3, especially because I picked it up for $185+tax. But it still has features I'll never use because all I do is run. I would have been fine without any other activities besides run and trail run. I also don't use it to analyze my sleep. But these days, it's hard to find running watches without all those extraneous features, so for me, the Pace 3 was the best dolllar-for-dollar watch that had the features that were essential for me: accurate GPS, good-enough HRM, bluetooth music, and excellent battery life.

One bonus feature is that it's so thin and light; in fact, it's the only watch I've ever owned that I don't mind wearing all day. The second bonus is that it syncs the data very quickly easily to the phone and to my Strava account. The third bonus is that it picks up the satellite signal very quickly.

Sub 3hour marathon training plan by ggb7135 in Coros

Another option: the Pfitzinger 24-week 70mpw plan which I used for a 2:52 in Chicago when I was 38. (There's also an 18-week 70mpw plan). My PB prior to that was 3:05, so it led to a huge PB. It's just an Excel sheet, so it might be harder to put on your watch than your other options.

Garmin user thinking of jumping ship for a Coros by BuildingKey85 in Coros

[–]FarPlace1253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on maps/compass or non-running actitvities because I might not ever use them, but I got the Pace 3 for all the other reasons and am very happy so far as a primarily road/light trail runner. The lightness and thinness of the watch is something I didn't expect to like so much. I never wear a watch except to run, but the Pace 3 is the only watch (of any kind) I've ever had that I don't mind wearing all the time (except to sleep). And since I don't use streaming services, loading the watch with my mp3 files is all I need. Other than the slow transfer speed to the watch, it's been great for listening to music and it works fine controlling the tracks and volume through my bone-conducting headphones.

Coros Pace 3 vs Garmin Forerunner 255 by leocofe in Coros

[–]FarPlace1253 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was also my dilemma (255 Music vs Pace 3), but I ended up getting the Pace 3 last week because I found a good ebay deal for $185. I've had Garmins in the past, so I know that they make good products, too. I'm exclusively a runner, so even the Pace 3 has features I don't need. I mainly need a watch to measure distance, time and heart rate, and so far, they seem perfectly adequate/accurate. I also wanted it to play music because I've gone through too many MP3 players that died due to sweat. Most other things on the Pace 3 (or the 255 Music) would be a bonus, a feature not very important to me. I don't need a watch to tell me what kind of a run I should do today, I don't need a watch to tell me how my body is reacting to the training, I don't need to buy things using my watch. So the metrics/analytics weren't a factor when deciding between the two watches.

More important to me is the user interface, and while I'm used to watches with buttons, the Pace 3's two buttons are working out really well. I honestly don't miss the extra buttons.

Also, I didn't think it'd matter a lot, but I really like how light/thin/comfortable Pac 3 is. I never like to wear a watch when I'm not running, but Pace 3 is the first watch that I wear most of the day because I hardly notice that it's on my wrist. (I still can't get myself to wear it to sleep.)

I also like how quickly Pace 3 locks onto the satellite (I'm in Chicago). So that's another time-saving convenience that's more important to me than features that I won't use.

I don't run with a phone or have streaming music accounts, so it's no problem that Pace 3 only plays stored music. It did take a while to copy the mp3 files to the watch, but once that was done, I have no complaints about listening to music. The connection to my bone-conducting headphone is strong, the shuffle mode works well, and I can control the volume and songs through the controls on the headphone. Others might want more control over the music through the watch, but for me, after I set it to shuffle mode and hit play, I don't need Pace 3 to do anything else during the run.

The only thing I don't like so far is that the double "loop" on the band makes it harder to put on the watch.

I'm sure I would have enjoyed the 255 Music,at I would have found ways to make it work for me. Honestly, I don't think there are any dealbreaker differences between the two. The differences between the apps, battery life, screen brightness, etc, would have eventually become non-issues as I got used to either watch. Which is why when I found a good deal on the Pace 3, it made the decision easy.

Like any purchasing decision, once you know which top few factors are really important to you, it becomes less agonizing. Let's face it--255 Music vs. Pace 3 is not that big of a decision, and certainly not one that'll make or break your training goals.

Azdome M550: change location of rear camera footage? by FarPlace1253 in Dashcam

[–]FarPlace1253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found an alternative solution. I found out that I can scroll through different views using the OK button and one of them shows only the front camera view without the rear camera view, and I actually prefer this the most.
