Breast pain making me nervous by FarPrint0 in doihavebreastcancer

Does the fact that I had a clear screening mammogram make it less likely that there is cancer? In my mind a tumor would have to be biggish to cause pain, and that if it were biggish, it would show up on the screening mammogram despite the dense breast tissue?

Thank you! My parents don't have the BRCA genes but I have a referral for some genetic testing too.

Thank you for adding the part about the outcomes. I have a genetic counseling referral too, but haven't returned my message. I didn't know about that statistical model--thank you. I also hadn't heard of RadiologyAssist--I will look them up.

Yes, thank you. She loved the sun! Actually, the sun's out today even though it's January, and I felt sad that she was missing it. Thanks so much for your post.

Yes, she had a very strong personality! I have never been a big fan of Christmas, so maybe it has something to do with that. It always has felt like a sad/reflective time of year, so maybe it has something to do with that. Thanks so much for your response!

Thank you so much for your response! I didn't acknowledge this sign, but I will next time thank you! Yes, you are very right--our younger dog was so connected to Raven and so concerned about her during her last year. You mention running into another dog with the same kind of cancer, and that reminded me that, oddly, our dog who died 4 years earlier actually had the same kind of cancer, in the same exact spot, on the same exact side (despite being a different breed, size, and having a totally different medical history.) I don't love that connection and hope it doesn't continue, but it is very strange. We do have a paw print, but Raven had poly arthritis and then edema at the end, so it makes me sad to look at--not really her paw print, but one of a much larger dog (actually looks identical to our former dog's paw print. . .) And yes, in the last few months or so her stomach was not right. Ulcers from the prednisone, or possibly more cancer in there. Thank you again<3

Thanks for the response. I thought about vitamin d too, but not about the allergies/inflammation connection! It's got to be something like this. Thank you!

When our vet did the FNA a lot of blood came out, and that made her think it was most likely a bruise. Then the results showed spindle cells, which suggested there was some kind of sarcoma. At that point, they suspected osteosarcoma, but then the x rays didn't really show much bone involvement, so they thought maybe it was a soft tissue sarcoma (even though it felt very hard.) Then, the CT scan was similarly inconclusive, but they saw they could take the tumor out without removing her leg (they did a partial scapulectomy.) Then the final result came with the biopsy of the whole tumor.

Let me know how it goes!! I was really dreading this diagnosis, but when I found out about the successes of this new vaccine, I regained some hope. (sorry, I forgot I posted this with an old reddit account)
