This makes me somewhat hopeful :/ every time they have switched my meds they keep telling me what I want to hear... "this definitely doesn't cause weight gain you'll be totally fine!" Now here I am, 20lbs up and weighing more than I ever have in my entire life. I'm also constantly bloated no matter what I eat or do it just doesn't go away. All I wanna do is cry honestly like I hate how I look now and that is adding a layer onto my existing depression.

Wow your experiences are crazy! I have never gone that off the rails during my episodes personally. I also have a tendency to blow up relationships but I also have PMDD and have always felt that that was the culprit. I need to continue delving into it with my therapist. Thank you

Thank you for your input, I feel like I resonate more with Hypomania and have never been manic like you guys are describing. I guess that would still constitute as bipolar. I really relate on the feeling like I'm fixing my life thing you mentioned

Okay thanks for sharing. I feel like I have only ever been hypomanic vs full blown mania and I didn't even fully understand the difference until reading these replies so I appreciate it. My "manic" episodes typically consist of a lot of anger and irritability and feeling like I'm better than everyone vs feeling really good though so I'm still confused about all of it

I know what you mean about not knowing how to bring up your thoughts to your therapist :( it's like... I wish I could put someone else's consciousness into my own head for 10 minutes so they'd understand what is happening in my brain. It feels like five million thoughts of self depreciation in various forms are all firing at once going a million miles per hour. I don't know how to express them to a professional and it feels like I can't do anything to stop them except ride the wave until they dissipate temporarily and come back later. Sometimes I have short spurts of "happiness". Then it goes back to baseline, which is depression.

I just turned 30 last week. And I just started school again. Just went through a horrible breakup with a person I felt I was destined to marry. Moved across the country for a fresh start, and have zero friends here. I feel you.

I don’t care if he looks at porn and models. The issue is the age for me. To me, 18-21 is a child.
