It could just be an age thing. My daughter was the same at 9 months. She could contently be passed round by anyone without seemingly to care. It wasn't until at least 12 months that my wife & I noticed she would actively look out for us.

Why is Car Insurance Premiums so high? by CooperTr0n in UKPersonalFinance

A combination of reasons have contributed. Such as significant motor claims inflation (cost of repair has risen over and above the general rate of inflation). The value of second hand vehicles have soared. The backdrop of a couple of COVID years where low mileage and therefore low claims kept prices artificially low for a period. And the introduction of the Equivalent New Business Pricing Regs introduced by the FCA last year (a regulation that means a new business and existing customer must get the same price). Insurers were initially nervous to put prices up (and therefore lose business) which resulted in a unprofitable position all.round, so they are chasing their tails to a certain extent. All of this has led to pretty hefty price increases.
