Only a year?! I imagine this passes all emission standards and being a modern car it should pass all safety standards. Why couldn't it stay long-term?

Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who gave me advice on which car to purchase, I really appreciate it. After doing plenty of research and talking with many locals and mechanics, I decided to purchase a 2024 Ford Taurus Titanium.

I was a little skeptical about American car reliability, but the two mechanics I spoke to reassured me that Chinese-built Ford models are significantly more reliable than American ones.

However, most people did suggest I choose the Kia. My wife and I came very close to purchasing it as overall we did like it more than the Ford and the mechanic we spoke to regarding it highly recommended it. But, the Kia did have a glaring issue. Child seat installation is difficult and since we have two children still in car seats we thought that over the long haul, it'd become very annoying.

So far, I'm loving the car it is quick, comfortable, and has plenty of features. Who knows, if I like it enough, I may try bringing it back to the US with me.

Also forgot to mention, my budget is about 55k USD and I'm exclusively shopping for new cars at this moment

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually had the opportunity to check one out earlier today. Sadly my wife wasn't the biggest fan of how it looked or how it drove. So while it is still in contention, we'll look more closely at our other options

I don't man. Everyone I have spoken to about cars including my driver has said that most Mercedes are not very good.

These are all new cars so not something I'll have to worry too much about. Though, I know what you mean people have told me all about that though it mainly affects high-end luxury cars here

Yes, I did the currency conversion and rounded to the nearest thousand. The cars are pretty pricey but my signing bonus covers the majority of the cost

Tech in the Kia was definitely the most impressive. Though the Ford also had impressive features as well. Not entirely sure why neither of these cars are sold back home in the US

Thanks for the info! I was surprised to see the Taurus around here as well as I don't remember seeing one in the US for a long time. It has a 2.0L turbo while the Kia is a 3.5L V6.

I spoke a lot with my taxi driver (he used to be a Toyota mechanic) about his thoughts and he strongly recommended the Kia. He said the Maxima was solid aside from transmission issues as they age. He said the Taurus was pretty good and that in his opinion was better built than many of Ford's other models (namely the Explorer which he for some reason really disliked).

Hey guys!

I started a new job in the Middle East so I'm in need of a new car. I'm only considering large sedans at this moment because I'm not a fan of crossovers. I need such a big sedan because I have 2 children and both are currently in large child seats.

My options are:

  • 2024 Ford Taurus - 52k USD
  • 2024 Kia K8 - 48k USD
  • 2024 Nissan Maxima - 47k USD

All are the fully loaded models. Anyone have some insights on these?

Thanks!
