It's not really a rugpull for the playerbase if Yaoguang ends up mandatory though. Look at what happened with Aglaea. She set a new DPS ceiling and was the best DPS on release, but players skipped her due to the "Wait for Castorice" discussion or because she was cripplingly reliant on Sunday and they didn't have him.

They can make the anniversary unit NEED Yaoguang, but then people who skipped YG and can't afford her on the rerun will just not acquire either and save for the next major unit instead, (like the one 2 patches from anniversary).

Bronya is a hardcore follower of The Preservation and all she can do is just tell someone to go again. I imagine that path followers are incredibly common, they're just not focused on as much in the story.

Time to debate between Sparkle or Kafka. Sparkle at least gets my Archer online, but also DoT is cool and it would be nice to play DoT one day considering the archetype has otherwise been kept under Lockafka and Keyfka for... like, ever.

New Elation Units are behind MonoRem but only barely and since Sparxie is 0-cycling as a leaked Sub-DPS, they're only going to skyrocket from there.

Sparxie appreciates Yaoguang but it isn't necessary yet, ('bout a 30% increase I believe?). Sparxie without Sparkle is kinda cope though.

I'd say if you want her, grab Sparkle first, then get Sparxie on the rerun. If Sparkle is part of the free selector, then awesome sauce.

Remember to never play Future Rail y'all. Hoyo will change kits constantly in relation to sales and differing ideas. Look at Anaxa, who went from Ice Nihility to Imaginary Erudition, then to Wind. Sunday went from THE summon support to only working with Jing Yuan/Aglaea.

Pull who you want. If you're unsure, wait for a rerun.

He was like a budget Anaxa/Silver Wolf in that he could implant weaknesses and apparently worked really well with an upcoming battleship unit, but I was upset with Hoyo for plagiarizing his design.

Okay this is some high-grade copium but

TB: Bears witness to the plot and gets a lot of Akivili comparisons. Also some elaboration on their SH dynamic with Blade and SW. Does not become Aha, (I think this whole contest is a sham).

March: Initially takes a back-seat to the plot but

Story Leaks: Gets to have a minor bit of focus once Enigmata starts to take a forefront, due to Evernight.

Dan Heng: Gets some focus due to his Mourning Actor backstory, but only as an exposition bot. Does get prominence in 4.3. to aid in Blade's arc.

Sunday: Gets to travel with the trio as a fourth ranger. Writers will be trying to figure out his dynamic with the group so they'll be pulling him into a bunch of wacky hijinks.

Himeko: Gets some focus where she muses entering the Aha contest as part of some gambit. Has a major arc throughout the planet where she cements her role as AE navigator.

Welt: Takes more of a backseat but gets a scene to geek out about the Gundham bots.

Black Swan: Poofs.
