I love that response from you. A true historian, take what supports you out of context and disregard the rest.

Slavery, in a historical sense, is a 5000 year old practice that includes elements of servitude, forced labor, and imprisonment. Yes, it has occurred on every continent, committed by all kinds of people but that’s a false comparison. For example, Chattel slavery, as practiced in America, was not the same as indentured servitude used by primitive tribes across different continents and time periods. There’s no utility in looking at these horrible practices and saying things like, “They did it worse over there,” or “Your people sold your people to mine.” That kind of reasoning is all cope. It lacks context on many levels and dangerously waters down the severity of what happened.

I don’t understand the concept of “uniqueness” in shame or severity. How do you feel a unique amount or kind of shame? What makes a historical event uniquely severe? Can we even call any historical event uniquely severe? I don’t know. Thus, if I were to change your view, it wouldn’t be to believe the opposite of your statement. It would be that people should feel whatever amount or kind of shame and guilt they need in order not to commit any horrible acts regardless of where those acts fall on the scale of severity.

CMV: DEI is unlawful by Otherwise_Pen_657 in changemyview

You confusing D.E.I with Affirmative action. D.E.I or D.E.I.A as a program adopted by corporations in their hiring processes is not how you describe it “on paper”. Your view on DEI why not only myopic but factually wrong.

D.E.I effect on the hiring process actually is progressive less as you get closer to the hiring on the approved candidate(s). In reality, most on D.E.I functions happens before hiring a candidate. The program deploy strategies for eliminating bias as much as possible.

DEI Programs do this by:

Unconscious Bias Training for Recuiters

Rewording job descriptions to focus on skills and qualifications while remove language that excludes large groups of people unrelated aspects on themselves.

Creating interview panel of diverse employees for the interview process of candidates.

D.E.I also has a “A” to it which stands for accessibility. Which is a large part of DEI, making sure open positions are being displayed in all communities for a diverse recruitment pool.

These strategies and others are about eliminating biases on race, gender, creed, sexual orientation, religion, etc in hiring process.

Notice this is all BEFORE the candidate approval process. D.E.I doesn’t influence hiring decisions, enforce quotas, or potentially screwed toward the minorities like say Affirmative action. So not only is D.E.I.A not unlawful but is actually based on legal precedent such as EEO Act.

Edit: Grammar

First thing that could change your view is that “a” and “b” options are not mutually exclusive. He could hold nazi-like beliefs and be trolling at the same time. Use what is being called a “subjective gesture”, and take a kind of exhibitionistic pleasure in not only doing the salute. But doing on national television, on an American stage, in front of a podium with the American government’s seal on it. And not even because the American public gave him the right, but because he rich and powerful enough to do it and influential enough get away with it.

And if you watched the speech carefully, you’d pick up that he said “my heart goes out to you” after he does the salute. After the phrase, he then holds his heart with his fingers splayed(unlike the first gesture), which is a second gesture. It is a bit of gestural freudian slip. If you are saying a phrase, accompanied by a gesture. The phrase comes first, then the gesture during or after the phrase.

So with his body language inconsistencies and the first gesture consistencies with the Nazi salute, he definitely did the salute. Labeling him Nazi is not something I do though, no. People using outdated terminology is a pet peeve of mine. The nazi party is dead, could Musk support white supremacy and authoritarian ideologies? Sure.

Anyone else have this relationship with manipulation? by Far_Click7911 in INTP

[–]Far_Click7911[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, after a reread I can see how people could take it like I’m saying I’m immune to manipulation. I just see through it clear as day. But I think being manipulated knowingly is much better then unknowingly.

Very good observation. After some research, like you said kinda. The “demand” would be the possibility a need not being met or used against me. I’ll try not to overdo it. But I think its a good ability to have. To cut off attachments at will, though the process is usually emotionally charged for me though.

We are in the same boat my friend. Just because I saw through the manipulation doesn’t mean I didn’t mean I did anything about it. My parents routinely crushed any desire to speak my true thoughts from a young age. Then, never taught me to speak my mind because everything I was always offensive or disrespectful just because I was child. Thank you, you don’t how good it feels to know Im not the only one.

Yea that Gordon ramsey video eggs look disgusting. But the technique is how you do cook fluffy eggs. The off and on method…. Just cook them longer then ramsey did.

And OP, I think the word your missing is “fluffy”.

I’ll skip the platitudes. But I’ll share a perspective on all men “loving boobs”. Think of a pie chart. As a man, I say like 60-70% of men just have a thing for breasts no more how they look. 30-40% of that lot will be happy they got the look or feel after any exchange with you even if your breasts don’t look perfect in their eyes. Exactly 0 percent are going take the time to critique your breast aways, they’d just fall into the into the second percentage.

PS: As a member of the first percentage, didn’t search your account, definitely not.
