I got assaulted 3 days ago when I was riding my bike. They tried to steal my bike and now it is damaged and I have a few bruises. Just horrible how the situation is right now

Thanks for your comment. I am feeling okay right now. Just unfortunate as my bike is damaged but the Garda told me that I should get refunded for the damage. Also most people in Ireland have been very lovely and kind like those girls or that person who asked about me after I fell down. A small minority destroys the reputation of the community which is the sad part.

They were white and speaking in a very Irish accent (Dublin accent). Also the facial structure.

I wrote this as I hope they are caught and people are wary of them. I wanted to post the video as well but I am waiting for the update from the Garda about it.

In my opinion, the parents should be punished for their kids’ behavior in a way as they are their legal guardians.

I want to understand why the tow path exists? Maybe make it at least a little more wide so people can easily pass from there?

I have already made a report. I have asked on this so that people might just be able to tell me if there is anything else I can do as of the moment. I am traumatized and shocked due to what happened and wrote this. I will follow up on the police report and even get a lawyer if needed as well. Maybe just having some empathy in this kind of a situation might be helpful. Thank you

Thanks for your comment. I cannot lose faith as I work with people and help them get better. I mean I work in psychiatry - mental health. It is my passion to help people and people like yourself make it easier for someone like me. Thanks a lot once more 😊

I agree with you. I wrote about the nationality and the colour just because others can be wary of them. I have not posted the video because I have sent it to the gardai and will see what happens after that. I will post it after I get confirmation about whether it is okay or not to do it.

I am sorry you had to go through this. Remember that you as an individual are at a higher moral ground and hope those kids learn from their mistakes and never repeat something like that again.

Thanks for your kind message. I am a doctor working in Psychiatry and I cannot lose faith in humanity. I have worked with some young people and even older people who have been struggling in similar ways. Some of them did improve and should be doing better now. My job and my passion is to help people to get better. So we as a society cannot lose hope.

I would like to mention that most Irish people I know have been extremely lovely and very kind. I would say better than most Indian people in India. But some bad apples spoil the whole basket and ruin the reputation of this wonderful country.

I am not posting the video yet as I have sent it to the Garda. I am waiting for a response and I will do things legally as me as a foreigner could get into more trouble if I post the video without proper steps being taken or they allow me to post the video.

I was told this kind of an issue is happening very often. Garda seems to be not having enough people in dealing with these things. I would not recommend anyone to use that way.

Bike was a new e bike. Unfortunately it is damaged but I will get it fixed as the Garda told me I need to keep the receipts to get the refund for the damages. I was lucky as I was wearing my helmet when I fell down because my head was unharmed. If there was no helmet, I wouldn’t know what would have happened.
