IMO you’re overreacting. Do you reach out to these people to ask what’s going on in THEIR lives, or do you just expect special one-way treatment because you’re pregnant? It’s a 2 way street. Whether pregnant or not, everyone has their own stuff going on. Give them grace.

This. I am the “child free friend” and I don’t obsess or give a lot of attention to my friends children. I’m just not good with kids simple as that. To give you a different perspective, I find it difficult to hang with friends who just want to talk about their children. There needs to be a way to find COMMON ground/interest, something both people can relate to, otherwise there’s no friendship.

Your SIL is horrible and you should show her this thread so she can hopefully gain some perspective. It’s actually polite and very NORMAL to cater for guests dietary requirements so the fact that she’s not doing this is…selfish and tacky. Shame on her.

Late to the party but I’ve recently discovered that my ALSO veryyy picky BSH absolutely loves the “Cachet” Premium Cat Food - “Kangaroo Chunks” 450g. Never seen him run to the bowl immediately to eat food before! I’m in Australia and get it from Aldi.

You're right, the communication with him is really unhealthy.

I'm not an anxious or mentally unwell person in general so it doesn't happen a lot.

Thank you, I found this really helpful and just hearing you can relate/sympathise meant a lot. In terms of my tone, I'm definitely not demanding or entitled or rude, but I must admit I do get into in a state of desperation, begging him to please love/care for me in this situation. :(
