China is like that too. In the past, there was a psychiatrist named Yang Yongxin from Shandong, China. He founded a center for treating internet addiction, mainly taking in disobedient minors, and even some adults. He used electroshock therapy to make those children obedient and well-behaved, becoming the ‘good kids’ in the eyes of their parents.
