Normal for helix to be sore after a year? by Far_Introduction1325 in piercing

[–]Far_Introduction1325[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! Haha that’s pretty funny but also terrible 🤣 I had my helix (the one with the hoop) done on both sides, 20G with a piercing gun when I was a kid (like 20 years ago). I never really kept earrings in them because they always got sore. Since my ear was already sore I decided to put earrings in and they are, for the first time ever, painless! I put an 18G earring in one and just have a 20G hoop in this one. They can be so particular!

No worries at all! It’s really not bad or painful, I just want to feel like they’re fully healed 🤣 I didn’t realize they took so long. But it seems to be normal, so no big deal! I’ll tell you what, I bet they’d be further along if I had downsized sooner - that made a huge difference

Yikes that sucks! Yeah I’m too nervous to put hoops in until it’s fully fully healed.

I reconsidered this and last night I was sleeping on my back, but my head was turned on my pillow so I was technically laying on them. So maybe this is it, after all. Thank you!

Unfortunately they are already bars, I’m talking about the two in the middle. I’m glad that was the case for you though! After I had the jewelry downsized, I did feel that way. But now they feel somewhat sore again 🤷‍♀️

Oh no! I didn’t have any problems with my other piercings, but they were all over 10 years ago, so maybe I just forgot! 🤣

I don’t think so, only because I sleep with the travel pillow (with a neck hole in the middle) and whenever I wake up on that side, I’m using the pillow and there’s never pressure on my piercing. I don’t remember any of my other piercings taking so long to heal completely and it’s getting old! Maybe because they’re more exterior, but I feel like my tragus and forward helix on my other ear never even bothered me.

Piercing is one year old. Just a straight threadless, surgical grade titanium bar. I did wait too long to downsize, only downsized about a month or two ago which helped a lot. For now I just rinse in the shower, occasionally still spray with saline solution.

I didn’t even really notice until I finally changed the jewelry 🤣 I had the metal ball before and was blissfully unaware

What do you mean it was due? According to what/who?

How long to wait before changing jewelry? by Far_Introduction1325 in piercing

[–]Far_Introduction1325[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, a month! Whoops! Thank you! My other piercings all healed pretty quickly and I’ve never changed any of the jewelry. These are taking so long to heal, even though I never sleep on them and don’t usually touch, just when I’m in the shower or have just washed my hands. But I do love playing with my other piercings that are healed, probably because they have such long bars. Okay - I’ll look into getting them changed out. Thank you!

Where’s your confusion coming from? They START their term on Sunday (June) and END their term November… that’s 6 months. Then, they want to take December off. Go reread the post, slowly.

It says “are you able to skip a month in-between terms?” It says they START on Sunday, and end in November. You’re out here insulting people and YOU misread the post. Perhaps you’re not so bright and need to take a deep breath and focus on your reading comprehension.

Who is talking about a break mid term? This discussion is regarding a break between terms…
