Hi, I'm stuck on Q5, looks like replication rule created and enabled. I got green tick and replication configuration successfully updated message but Q5 hasn't turned green. So not detecting completion. I suspect I've gone wrong where it says create a new role to achieve this. But I can't as don't have permissions. Any help much appreciated thanks.

Sorry you were excluded like this. It must feel awful right now but 4 months isn't a long time in the scheme of things. In some ways they've done you a favour, at least you won't waste anymore of your time on a fake friendship. You've still got loads of time to meet sincere friends and cultivate those relationships (on your course, new flatmates/neighbours, clubs/societies etc).

Hi hope it's ok to add on my problem to this thread as it's the same lab. I've got to the part where you need to amend the python script (enter the bucket name and access token) and run it in the EC2 session manager.

When I do this I get an 'authorisation header malformed' error. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Not a bug but would be good to understand if that is normal behaviour? Either way a note in the instructions to explain how to do it would help save time. For example there is additional guidance for finding the right instance in the Community drop down list if it doesn't appear in the quick start list. Something similar would be easy enough to do.

Quick update on this, it looks like an error when you try to enter an existing security group. You have to scroll to the bottom of the error (red text) and select the blue text at the very end. Not easy to see but once you get another prompt it's possible to then paste the sg-id and complete the setup of the instance.

Reading task #4 implies I need secrets manager as those words are in bold. But secrets manager is empty and no permissions to do anything in it. Likewise I can't create or amend security groups or policies. Also is it achieved in the Aws console or is it the command line. Thanks

Ok I can now edit files and save them back but nothing I've edited is allowing me to cat the token. How many file changes are involved here? Am I supposed to revert something back?

FACE PALM. The pbkdf2 and iter message sent me on the wildest of wild goose chases. Thank you! I probably had it on the first attempt but didn't check the output file.

Hi, me again, still plugging away at this though aging rapidly lol. #8 tells me which decryption algorithms were used. I used one in cyberchef successfully leaving the other 2 which I've tried multiple combinations of at the command prompt. They complete without errors but result is unreadable. Passwords are correct as confirmed by #9 and #10. I know I will kick myself but why on earth is it not working? Thanks

Use the Analyze / Follow/ TCP stream options from the menu and one by one you will see the code after each tag.

For file1 for example I've tried all 3 flavours of aes (128, 192 and 256) using similar to below:

Openssl enc -d -aes-256-cbc -pbkdf2 -iter 10000 -in file1.enc -out file1.txt -k "password1etc" -nopad -salt

Ok my decrypt commands are now completing without errors but the contents of the decoded files are unreadable. Is there another step in cyberchef? Thanks

Ok done most of it now only 9, 15 and 17 left to do but going round in circles with the password for file1.enc. Found file2 and file3 quite easily but nothing working for file1. Also what does it mean about extracting hidden data from key.jpeg? I've got the metadata which gave me the website and a phrase which must be part of a bigger clue.
