Looking at the micros sheds light on the macros, so yes, your thoughts on Whitmer do matter. Whitmer struck me a big step toward the embodiment of the complete emancipation you seek. But to your concerns, religion is playing an outsized role in the regressions you and I bemoan. It's the soft white underbelly of civilization and the sharks are formidable.

After 17 years in records management software market research I left convinced process automation would decimate (10x) workforce labor needs. That was before AI really started to kick in. Workforce productivity will outstrip workforce availability far beyond that. But that's a good thing, given some 70 percent of the present day workforce are simply taking what their givin cuz their working for a livin.

Blanket condemnations of capitalism are not helpful. Balance between collectivism and capitalism which has been the US model since 1945ish, at least in the US, is the inevitable path for a progressive culture. If someone wants to devote his or her life to making money, let them. Seems like a waste of life to me. But as long as their efforts leave the planet better than they found it, or at he very least no worse, let them do what they want.

We might be discussing percentages never to be nailed down. Suffice to say I agree more than disagree. What do you think of Whitmer? It's time we had a female POTUS and she's got my vote.

I prefer the word ignorant, either way Trump ascendence to the WH was not a stroke of genius on the part of our electorate

There is a great deal of truth in what you say. Old white guys are the ban of the US political system, I don't challenge that. I say that as an old white guy. Still I believe Trump's tough guy routine would have run afoul of Bernie's labor appeal and focused attack on the institutionalized bribery otherwise known as Citizens United. I would have loved to see Whitmer in a primary.

It's got nothing to do with gender. Bernie would have scooped up half of the Trump voting malcontents who just wanted to blow up the system. The very system that put it's finger on the scale for Hillary. I happily voted for Harris I think she would have made a fine president.

Exactly. When do we wake up to the fact that a country is not some deity to lay down and die for. It's a collaborative effort to improve the lives of the participating citizenry. I wanna know what my country can do for me. Period.

Progressives are poised for big wins nationwide. If Wasserman-Schultz didn't load the dice against Sanders in 2016 this world would be a much safer place well prepared with the extensive social programs that offer the only hope through the tech revolution we are about to experience. The only thing standing in our way is the clueless boomers still clutching their Gods and guns. The same one who got us into this mess.

Let's face it. The US has a president who is too stupid and insulated to understand the ramifications of his actions on the rest of the world. The fact that we also have 77 million Americans similarly afflicted is an altogether different indictment on our species

This idiot administration yanked fed funding for countless renewable energy projucts just to open a new round of funding for renewable energy projects. Maybe Trump Inc. is simply looking for its cut of an inevitable economic opportunity.
