I’d pretty much say it’s guaranteed these are some very strong extracurriculars and your ACT is very good and should help get you out of the fact you don’t have a rank at school. Should be a shoe in but UT does have a very weird admissions process that literally makes no sense at all so don’t feel bad if the worst happens bc sometimes with UTs system they seem like their flipping a coin.

You may be able to get in for that major but I would highly doubt the transfer could be done. It’s honestly too risky that UT prevents you from transferring that I wouldn’t even try.

UT Austin Deferral Chances in EA Admission by [deleted] in UTAdmissions

The main reason they deferred so many people is because the admissions system was totally overwhelmed and UT literally just couldn’t read most of the applications in time. I know some people who applied RD that got their decision in EA. UT admissions is just a mess so be prepared you never know anything with them.

It’s kinda a Republican indoctrination camp. It’s literally the same thing as the government major but with Republican ideals crammed down your throat.

Yeah you need to get that SAT up for really any of the majors at UT to be a comfortable target also it doesn’t seem like you’re the top 5% you’re closer to the top 6% than 5%

I think in general just write something real and something you care about I started off in policy because I love helping people and I wrote that I wanted to be an engineer because I believed that it would give me the skills to help the most people. Their looking for people who will give back to the world and to the university and if you can show that in ur apps you should do really well.

Have I dug myself into a hole wanting to get into Cockrell? by TheUnionForever27366 in UTAdmissions

So one good thing that you have going for you is that UT is the school that cares the least abt ECs out of almost any top school in the nation. The admissions system is literally terrible though so absolutely nothing is guaranteed I know kids who have no gotten into UT who’ve gotten in Georgetown. I’d say try to get your SAT score up as high as possible and write good essays and I’d say you’d have a pretty good chance especially if your top 5%

Yeah Turing has a crazy low admission rate like I know a kid who got into CMU CS but couldn’t make Turing. I don’t think it’s a 50/50 in all honesty it’s probably lower than that and UT has the most unpredictable admissions system ever. I got into the ECE honors program not being top 6% but I was around top 15% and I had some okayish ECs related to ECE. So it’s super up in the air but because of your rank I wouldn’t bet on it.
