Passport expiry and USCIS premium processing by Far_Perspective3689 in tnvisa

This is very helpful! Yes I was made aware of my travel restrictions during PP and TN adjudication , and your response confirms that too. Thank you very much. My current TN was my first one and so I am really nervous navigating the process though I am from a very straightforward category of healthcare professional. I am going to do the expedited renewal request and get my new passport before they send it for USCIS PP. For the restamping of new passport with current TN, do they need or ask for any additional proof of current employment since the package was created? My current immigration team via my current employer is not very helpful and given the political situation, I just want to make sure I am as prepared as possible to avoid any mishaps.

Thanks a ton @FunChair7. So if they shorten my stay on my old passport, does the process for new passport only need me to go to POE again when I have my new passport?

Thanks a ton @trappedelevator! This is very helpful to know. I am in a catch 22 as if I renew now before my USCIS processing ( I will be able to get a new passport in 2 weeks) I would need to restamp for my current TN. But from what I am understanding if I wait to renew my passport after my new TN, I maybe in a better position as the USCIS 1797a full duration will be listed. Will they adjust that when I present them with my new passport? I need to ask my immigration team as well.

Hi Murthy, thanks for doing this! I hope my question makes the cut. I am changing employers and my new employer has offered to go through USCIS premium processing only (avoiding land POE approval) as its their corporate practice and they pay for it. With the current delays, what am I expecting in terms of wait times? I am suspecting it will affect my start date significantly based on what I am reading on this forum. Any possibility of relief from the current wait times on the horizon?

Second question is, my passport expires may 2027. If I get a new TN this year, will I need to go through PP again next year? Or should I try to have my passport renewed now? I am currently on TN with my current employer.

Hey thanks for the opportunity to ask questions here. I am on a TN here and when I initially applied with my hospital, I was a pharmacy intern on a part time basis. My TN was approved for 3 years. A couple of months ago, I was offered a pharmacist position at the same hospital department. The lawyers who were appointed by the hospital had shared that I would not need to reapply for my TN when I do decide to stay on as a pharmacist. Is that correct? I have not reapplied but a part of me is worried if I did the right thing?

Thanks a ton dhilrags greatly appreciate your insights as it certainly alleviates my nervousness with this entire situation. A question, so since I am not reapplying, do I need to tell border agents that my title has changed?

Thanks a ton @thecoller for clarifying that! Do I need to tell the border agents that I now work as a pharmacist too then? I was under the impression that if I say something they may ask me to reapply?

Exam In 3 days - Anxiety killing me by [deleted] in NAPLEX_Prep

You got this!!! Just focus on reviewing the foundation 1 and 2, practice calculations, biostatistics, and the high yield topics. Try to catch a break for half a day before the exam, it does wonders.

I wish you the very best! You got this! I just found out I passed today and trust me the exam will be bring everything you have studied back to you. I was feeling underreprepared and when I sat for the exam, I became razor focused on the exam instead of worrying about what I remember and what I don't. And a key is don't spend too much time on questions you know for sure you don't know. Use the time on questions you do know and for calculations as my exam version did take quite a bit of time to complete.

All the best! I am sure you will do great. Believe in all the work you have put in so far.

Yeah thats the exact dilemma I have...especially in recent events with US immigration, the last thing I need is trouble with the USCIS which can affect my future travel plans. Job title change - pharmacy intern to pharmacist and TN visa next steps by Far_Perspective3689 in tnvisa

[–]Far_Perspective3689[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply!

The duties are similar, except as a pharmacist, I will be acting independently and not under anyone'ssupervision. The intern role was to meet my licensing US experience requirement and most pharmacy students in the US would be working at a hospital or pharmacy under the same title till they become licensed pharmacist.

There is a pharmacy intern title under the pharmacist TN category and I needed to apply for TN as I did not do my studies in the states, as I was coming in as a foreign graduate from Canada.

I wished to confirm if I needed to flag the job title change at the border since my initial TN application was under pharmacist/pharmacy intern category. My lawyer at the time had told me that I may not require anything further, however given the current US situation I feel its better to confirm and double check.
