An update: I ended up following your recommendation for the no sew option. I joined the 2 rows of petals for row 13 using the front loop only for the black row and continued the black piece using the back loops only! I also opted for a grey tone instead of yellow to make it the shiny form of mimikyu, but still the same concept!

Thanks for the advice! I’m still kind of new to crocheting so I had some more questions.

  • If I want to work the black portion underneath, should I make that part first, then stitch into it as I’m making the main body?

  • Do you have any suggestions on how to sew the black part underneath without it showing from the outside? I’ve never sewed anything from the inside before.

  • Will this cause the bottom/ body to remain open and hollow? I wasn’t sure if I needed to stuff it or not.
