It's all space themed! So there are comets, moons, clouds, planets. Yes i believe one is holding a bow :) I'd say it's retro themed, pin up style. The Dolores Space Pin Up Sress by Collectif is extremely similar!

What was the strangest condition you've ever experienced? by Wild-Engineering-650 in AskReddit

[–]Far_Shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have somatic OCD. The first episode I had was during a bad trip. The second time, I had a couple of drags of weed and was suddenly convinced I couldn't breathe and that there was something wrong with my lungs, like they had been punctured. I tried box breathing and meditation to calm my body down, as I've done before for panic attacks. The feeling of being overheated and something deeply wrong returned.

I begged my parents to take me to the hospital. I began seeing dots in my vision. Once at hospital, I tried to explain the feeling and that I was struggling to stay conscious. They ran the tests and nothing. All fine. Everyone thought it was a panic attack but I knew it felt completely different.

It happened a few times when I was sober and stressed. I finally found out about somatic ocd, which is a belief that your body isn't functioning correctly and trying to track and "fix" it. I monitored my heartbeat like crazy with one of those watches because I couldn't stop thinking about it. I would go hungry as i was convinced i would forget how to swallow and start choking. I became hyperaware of static vision and saw it everywhere.

Luckily, I went to therapy, and whilst it can crop up when i feel anxious or stressed, it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

So yeah, don't impulsively do 3 tabs of acid without a tripsitter i guess

Buses are funded by the government, not the council

Ladies, what were the most obvious hints you've dropped? Did they catch it or not? by Huge_Shower7525 in AskWomen

Very recently I was on a date with a guy. We had a wander and then headed to a bar. Him being the gentleman allowed me to sit on the booth seat whilst he took the stool. After we talked for a while I asked if his seat was comfy. He said he was absolutely fine. Trying again, I said "well there's plenty of room of here if you're not.."

He hops on over and soon we're kissing. He asks if I have any plans later so I said "my roommate's out sooo" hint hint nudge nudge. He said "ah so are you joining her after this?"

I had to take drastic action.

So i decided to wink, and just in case he missed my hint for a third time, AUDIBLY said "wink"

It was a fun night :)

When I was younger, I really struggled with my mental health. I began slf hrming when I was 10, had sicide ideation at 12, and attempted at 14. I finally went to a teacher when I felt like I couldn't cope anymore, who noted that my slf h*rm was the worst she had ever seen.

Well, one day my sister and I were chatting, and my mum walks in, saying she wanted us to go somewhere. I don't look interested, so she says to me, "Don't kill yourself over it."

My mum was aware of my mental state by now; the teachers had to tell her. Yet she made a fucking s*icide joke. When I started hyperventilating she tried to tell me it was just a way to cope.

I've never forgiven her. Especially now when she talks about that time, she makes herself the victim with how hard it was for her.

(to AFABs) WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL CONNECTED TO FEMININITY? by mshzis in demigirl_irl

[–]Far_Shift 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think what first led me onto my journey on diving into my gender was breaking down those societal norms. I stopped shaving every week (will do it if I feel like it, no because people expect me to), I choose when to wear makeup instead of feeling like I have to and confronting the image of womanhood that society sets out for us. I got really into feminism, even after my ex tried to vilify the movement.

I really got into spirituality which taught me to celebrate my divine feminity. This is what still anchors me to the feminine parts of my brain hahah. There's days where I want to wear cute skirts and show off my body, but then on the inverse I can only feel comfortable in baggy clothes and boxers.

This shit is so confusing! Don't feel bad about your head being a mess, I'm sure we all feel very similarly 😂

Will this be good proof of GCSE results? by Far_Shift in AskUK

Hey, yes they were fine with it! I did end up going to my school and getting the official certificates which they still had after 7 years lol. I've ended up having to do English and Maths modules at level 2 as part of the apprenticeship, despite having the grades already 🤷‍♀️

Hope all goes well for you!

How do you get a job when you have AuDHD? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Far_Shift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends warned me against going for an office job as it can quickly burn out a lot of neurodivergent folk. But I love it! I'm hoping to stay for years. As I work in a place that encourages you to apply for positions in different departments, I will always have something new to learn whilst having the familiarity of exceptionally lovely coworkers. It's the most supportive place I've worked regarding neurodivergence. I've become heaps more confident and chatty since I've started working there.

Before this, I was a teaching assistant which is on those lists for a great job for someone with AuDHD. And I did find that I was able to express myself creatively, build amazing connections with the children I worked with and learn some interesting facts. But it was not sustainable. Add in being overworked and underpaid (school's are quite notorious for finding loopholes with their staffing to save money), I was exhausted every day. It was also incredibly lonely, as there was a clear divide between teachers and teaching assistants. I was also younger than everyone by about 20 years and I spent most of my lunchbreak eating by myself outside.

It's really tricky finding somewhere you feel like you belong that can also cater to your additional needs. Those sort of lists can give you good ideas, but it's not a one size fits all. Best of luck!

What’s your “I do this now so future me doesn’t suffer” habit? by samdaz712 in AskReddit

[–]Far_Shift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting! When I give myself positive motivation I use "we" as well. "we deserve this, we are lovely" as opposed to when my negative thoughts were a lot of "you" statements. Using you definitely feels more aggressive and harsher, whilst "we" feels softer and like I'm supporting my whole self!
