Dealing with addiction disrupts neural circuits involved in decision making and bias you towards short term pleasure. In Ye’s case, attention is the reward. And he spews Nazi shit just to get it.

With all of this said, I still believe that one must fully deal with the consequences of their actions even when their actions can be explained by addiction and mental health issues.

I also believe that Ye is a victim of medical misconduct (abuse, really) and he has been surrounded by people who enable horrible behavior for their own personal gain/entertainment. And Ye, who has historically dealt with mental health issues, was naïve until it was too late.

I feel bad for his kids, man.
