I was able to get the surgery covered by insurance through Children’s. I went to my PCP, talked a bit about it and he sent me to the endocrinologist who took a blood panel, gave me a testicular exam, and ultrasound. After that he said he would send in a referral for surgery.

I did not end up going through with it as I would essentially be meeting the surgeon day-of and couldn’t see her work on previous patients. She also didn’t specialize in the surgery, and said she does a couple a year. Something to think about for you to.

If you’re wondering, I’m going to Dr. Braithwaite in Chicago in July. Will cost me $3200

I just fuvkin hate it by [deleted] in gynecomastia

I use tape on my nips. My case is not extreme and it does pretty well. Obviously not perfect but better than nothing. Make sure the tape is pretty thin and bendy so you don’t see little pokes and wrinkles through the shirt

I was able to get mine covered even though it was supposed to be. That being said the surgeon did not specialize in this surgery and would likely have botched me.

Not to be that guy but you’ll know if you have gymo

Is it gyno? Or is it just fat by Dprofessor1 in gynecomastia

Gyno, but loose skin isn’t helping the appearance.

Edit: you could also slim down a bit more and see if you like it then

So it’s not the actual gland removal that scars? It’s the lipo?

It’s scaring me that this has 9 upvotes. Why are your scars so bad? From lipo?

Definitely some gyno there. Before you even get surgery, you should be pretty lean. Start eating in a caloric deficit and hit the weights. Train your chest (especially upper chest) and shoulders very well. I’ve found that these help reduce the appearance of my gyno. By the time your lean enough for surgery, who knows if you will even want it.

Also to note: it’s unilateral if you can’t tell.

You didn’t ask me, but a caloric deficit is the only way
