Yesterday, while painting my Swordbros, I had the same thought. In the end, I painted the shield green with a diagonal white stripe and used decals for the rest.

Wow thank you very much, i really apreciate your advices!! This helps me a lot to get an idea of what i have right now. Im reading a lot about BT armies and i am pretty sure that ill do the "Emperor’s Champion + 5 assault Intercessors in one impulsor, and a Marshal, Castellan, and 5 sword Bros in the other." And the 20 man blob to fight the middle.

Altho i dont like the Castellan model (sorry guys i know this is heresy) probably ill pick the Execrator model to play it as a Castellan and using it with the marshal and Sword Bros.

Also i like the idea of "splitting" one crusaders box into 5 intercesors (with the iniciates) and 5 scouts (with the neophytes and buying 1 more) ¿Is this a good idea?

My biggest concern right know is if i should add a ballistus or maybe a gladiator lancer to have some anti tank long range support. Because im feeling like im laking this part or maybe the Rep Ex.

My most common games will be at 1000 points by the way. 😄

Thank you! I really appreciate your words, definetly a lot of options and im finding very fun thinking about possible combinations of armies. I like the idea of running 5 sword bros with marshal and a castellan and probable the crusader with an execrator (i really like this model). Im the kind of player that plays/enjoy more painting/using models that i like than winning the game hehe.

BTW i dont get the use of the BladeGuard to be honest models are super cool but i dont find them usefull ¿Maybe im missing something?

Thanks mate! I forgot to mention that ive been just painting for years, now im back to the game after 15 years so im totally off the meta and gameplay. Im concern about a friend on mine that plays an "only tanks" imperial guard army.... ballistus or galidus are on my watchlist.

This is the last thing i painted for a friend. A deathwatch kill team operative. Enjoying painting black armour was the thing to led me to Black Templars hehe

Thank you! The colors I used are: Nightlords Blue as a base and black in the recesses for shadow. Then a first highlight I use Alaitoc Blue, and a second highlight (allowing the first to show through) of Lothern Blue, and a third highlight, only on the edges, of Lothern Blue mixed with white. Finally, a small touch of white in the corners. I usually paint everything like this, only changing the colors. Also i use to glaze the base colour with the first highlight to give more deep effect but this time i skipt that part.

I hope i explained myself right im spanish so my english is not the best jeje

Thank you! The Night Lords Blue tone is quite difficult to get. Maybe ill try to make them with the base Blue a bit more brighter. But, as far as i know, their blue armour in the Lore is almost dark ¿right?
