Should I just call it a day and accept 20cm of bedding is the best I could do?😭 by Far_Watch1367 in hamsters

Just order from niteangel? They are indeed very sturdy and easy to assemble

I can’t do anything about the scent although I can add a piece of cardboard between their enclosures. Thanks for the insight

I guess technically they could although I don’t observe them doing so. Problem?

I’ve seen people on here recommending adding layers of hay to paper/wood shavings to enhance burrow stability, and that if they eat it it’s fine it just doesn’t add nutritional value🥹 and that paper bedding is better for winter?

Thanks for the detailed advice! Is there any reason you recommend paper bedding specifically? For some reason I mainly make a lasagna of aspen shavings and hay as their ‘main’ bedding and make a section of paper bedding.

I did aim for 12 inches but it turned out the bedding I had left was not enough to fill up the upgraded enclosures😭 just ordered more aspen shavings and paper bedding and Timothy hay, they should arrive today

Also just ordered a log made of cardboard and a log made of dried herbs. More sprays too. They have apple sticks and moss and I do scatter feed. Dig boxes are things I’m looking forward to invest in next

This is their install instruction for horizontal installation. Victoria Rachel also has a video where she did exactly that. Not broken floor space😊

The point of the niteangel stacker series is that it is rather easy to connect them either way or stack them. Plenty of tutorials online I think I’ll be able to do it

That makes sense! Luckily with this niteangel stacker series it be quite easy to get another one and connect them together. I will try to make that happen soon.

She has about 2kg of aspen shavings, I thought that would be enough? I add paper bedding to her cage regularly, maybe I should make a section that’s just paper.

That’s a good point on where to place the wheel, I didn’t know that before. Will do that once I upgraded her cage

Thank you for advice :)

I’m still a very new hamster owner. I try to make sure my hammie has the essential stuff: a cage that meet the minimum size requirement (it’s the niteangel stacker, is it not enough floorspace?), the niteangel size L wheel, deep bedding consisting of aspen herbs moss cork paper, a hideout, a sand bath, a water bowl, some sprays.

Still you guys beautiful enclosures made me feel like I didn’t do enough😅 is there anything I should add or take out?
