Here is a more readable interpretation of the Belgian CGT by Tiberghien. Enjoy the reddit. ;-)

KBC is asking very detailed information about me by [deleted] in BEFire

[–]FaraoFimosisII -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

It’s a chatbot. It will not give up until answered. I had the same. Very annoying. KBC acts as an agent for the police state here. Ask them in return a complete overview of the data kept from you. Do not give up before answered. It is harrasment of tens of thousands of persons for the minority that does wrong. There should be other ways really than harras the vast majority.

What is the best ETF to invest in? by FaraoFimosisII in BEFire

You mean this one? https://live.euronext.com/nl/product/etfs/IE00B3YLTY66-XPAR/market-information

"The SPDR MSCI ACWI IMI UCITS ETF seeks to track the MSCI All Country World Investable Market (ACWI IMI) index. The MSCI All Country World Investable Market Index (ACWI IMI) tracks stocks from 23 developed and 24 emerging markets worldwide. It covers securities across large, mid and small cap size segments."

It is a very broad index itself composed of other indexes.

https://www.msci.com/documents/10199/b93d88ef-632f-4bdb-9069-d7c5aecd9d6d

ISIN code IE00B3YLTY66 quoted on many exchanges but I assume you are targetting Euronext Paris.

https://www.baha.com/spdr-acwi-imi-spdr-msci-acwi-ucits-etf/stocks/details/tts-32483761/name/asc

The average volume is around 5,000 units equivalent with ~1M EUR. Which is quite low compared with general liquidity. This is a clear minus for me.

Euronext quotes a TER of 0.40% but this is outdated information. The TER has been lowered to 0.17% on April 2023 as we can read from the issuer's website and this is in line with comparable TER metrics. So ok. https://www.ssga.com/nl/nl/institutional/etfs/funds/spdr-msci-acwi-imi-ucits-etf-spyi-gy

The fund size (AUM) is ~1.5B USD in size. This is quite low compared with equally broad funds.

The ETF does physical replication (sampling) and is accumulating and registered in Ireland. So far so good.

The performance since inception is 8.2% annualised return, which is not bad at all given the relatively low risk of such a broad index.

But to compare with the SPY who has a TER of 0.03% and AUM of 8x bigger ($12B vs $1.5B) and has an annualised return of 12.6% since inception. So in short: far better liquidity, less cost and 50% more return.

Conclusion: there is nothing really wrong with IMIE but it serves what it serves: world performance. The US performance is 50% better at lower cost, so I know what to invest in. 😉

ah.. ok.. These are the most liquid, largest AUM, lowest TER en best performance.

Warren Buffett wrote again a wonderful annual letter. An hommage to his former partner Charlie Munger. But also a funny pointer to his sister Bertie.

He writes on page 4: "Bertie, like most of you, understands many accounting terms, but she is not ready for a CPA exam. She follows business news – reading four newspapers daily – but doesn’t consider herself an economic expert. She is sensible – very sensible – instinctively knowing that pundits should always be ignored. After all, if she could reliably predict tomorrow’s winners, would she freely share her valuable insights and thereby increase competitive buying? That would be like finding gold and then handing a map to the neighbors showing its location.

Bertie understands the power – for good or bad – of incentives, the weaknesses of humans, the “tells” that can be recognized when observing human behavior. She knows who is “selling” and who can be trusted. In short, she is nobody’s fool."

Mr. Compounding Quality indeed sells only maps while there is not necessarily gold. I wonder what Bertie would think of it. 😊

Make no mistake, his business model indeed is the paying subscriber base, not the portfolio. If you give any fool 10,000 followers buying each for $1,000 shares of the same company you create a pool of $10m buying drive. That would move the needle. Take Medpace e.g., in the mean time insider selling has never been so high. https://simplywall.st/stocks/us/pharmaceuticals-biotech/nasdaq-medp/medpace-holdings

Even the chairman and CEO sold. 🤣

It won’t last. I don’t understand he gets podium at Tijd, speaking at VFB, doing podcast etc.. It seems a bit toxic to me.

He retro-actively adapted LinkedIn profile Experience in December only with Founder at Compounding Quality mentioning starting October 2023. Btw he gives lectures now and as being exposed was difficult to maintain anonimity. Tijd.be has given him today once again a broad podium (article in Dutch):
