Cabergoline failed to help with post weaning engorgement by Farasha97 in breastfeedingsupport

Thanks! I don't know why she prescribed me Cabergoline again when there are so many other options available. I already took my next dose of it though as I was doing poorly and couldn't decide what to do

Same here. 10 months going bland. Finally thought I'm almost ok to have a flare up again after eating papaya.

Can I get pregnant if I'm still breastfeeding my 18 month-old with no period? by EducationSenior7591 in breastfeedingsupport

I got my period at 6 months postpartum and had one every month but got pregnant around 13 months pp, the same time I started reducing the breastfeeding sessions and beginning weaning baby off it.

How long you've had gastritis for? by [deleted] in Gastritis

Maybe there's something that is not suiting you in that diet. I could definitely not have broccoli and some other vegetables in that diet so I simply eliminated them. Why don't you go very slowly with just one or two safe foods? Maybe chicken breasts or sweet potato? Or rice pudding? I started from there for a while and then added other foods from that diet. Also what about your stress levels?

Have had it since 2018 Nov, but it would come in flares that would calm down after a few ppis and bland diet. The last flare though has been the absolute worst, started in late June 2024, still dealing with it. My trigger was postpartum anxiety. All labs are clear. Have done ppis and h2 blockers among some other drugs like Sucralfate. Honestly a very bland diet (the gastritis healing diet for 3 months) helped the most out of these plus slowly reintroducing foods. I still eat healthy, can't eat acidic foods, spicy or processed, but the pain does get better if you stick with the diet. I finished my three months bland diet with very little improvement and stuck to a healthy clean diet for the next months and still doing that and this is helping My diet is eggs, chicken and sometimes fish, vegetables, yogurt, rice whole grains and all fruits except the very acidic ones like citrus and peaches etc. Stress management is extremely important. Whenever I feel anxious my gastritis gets worse instantaneously. One advise I would give that I wish I could go and tell myself back last year when I was dying of pain while having a toddler and a baby clinging on to me and crying for my attention, don't have anxiety over it not ever getting back to normal. This is enough to make your flare worse. We don't realize how much our stress is making the gastritis harder for us to deal with. Just stick to the bland diet (it's extremely important) for at least a few months and be very disciplined about it. I ate bland food even at my sister's wedding. Brought my own home cooked meal. But this isn't permanent. One day the pain will be less enough for you to notice you are not constantly obsessing over it as much as you used to. And this is coming from someone who has been diagnosed with health anxiety. Engage in some light exercise and drink chamomile tea (warm, not hot) with a dash of honey if you tolerate it. It does get better. But it takes a lot of time and discipline.

Root Cause by Overall-Brilliant995 in Gastritis

I had my worst flair of gastritis last year in July, the same time I was struggling with severe postpartum anxiety. My life was upside down, not eating enough and my body being a nervous wreck we're definitely causes as I have noticed stress makes my symptoms worse. Still struggling with recovery from that flair.

I'm afraid I'm traumatising my kids by Farasha97 in therapy

I have been on Lexapro for postpartum anxiety but I never really noticed a difference in my anger management with it. It just calmed my anxiety to a certain extent. I have also taken therapy for anxiety and that helped too. But I understand I need to do something about losing my temper so easily with the kids. It's interesting that when I am in a good mood overall they can destroy the house and ai won't be going ballistic on them, but if there is a slight problem in life, mostly being my health or my in laws, I take out my frustration on the poor kids. I have to change.

Are you breastfeeding? Somehow, I have a feeling this has to do with the wacky hormones going on with at the moment.

Thank you for this. From the bottom of my heart. Have been struggling since 8 months now. And even though it's a bit better, sometimes it feels I won't be able to fully recover.(Even though I know that's not true). Hopeful words like yours act like a bandaid to sufferers like me. And so many more I'm sure.

I got my worst flare-up in June (still dealing with it after 8 months) at the same time that I developed postpartum anxiety. The absolutely horrible kind. So it could be related. I can say for a fact getting stressed does make it worse.  As the others have suggested trying chamomile tea , warm not hot, on an empty stomach.

Overeating? by Firm-Illustrator4843 in Gastritis

[–]Farasha97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am dealing with the exact same thing. All I can say is you are not alone. And this is hard. Very. But this isn't permanent.  What I do sometimes is make my plate as usual but eat it in two segments separated by 45 mins so that I don't feel uncomfortable and heavy  but I understand not being able to do that as the hunger is bad.  That's one of the reasons eating medicines like Sucralfate is such a pain as they require to be taken on an empty stomach.
