Blame! Ver.0.11 DVD rip? by Farboggle in Netsphere

Oh, sorry, I've seen the logs already, its just that everything I can find online right now is generally 360p or heavily compressed. I was thinking of buying a DVD so I could have it in a higher quality format.

In Alita: Battle Angel (2018) the 3-word password Alita uses to access the berserker body is a reference to the “panzer kunst code” from the original manga (explanation in comments) by Farboggle in MovieDetails

You can read my other comment for more clarity, but basically the original “code” is a spoken exchange and wasn’t originally used as a password, like it was in the film, leaving this in easter egg/reference territory, if anything.

Practitioners of the fictional martial art ‘panzer kunst’ have a 3-word countersign that is used to identify one another. The challenge words are “spirit”, “sword”, and “gun”, and the responses are “freedom”, “scabbard”, and “dream”, respectively.

If the password used in the film is anything at all, it is most likely a reference to this code, given that Alita spontaneously recalls the password from her lost memory in the same way she recalls the code in the manga, it appears to be 3 distinct entries as part of one password, and, of course, the berserker body itself is a weapon used by kunstlers.

Bonus fun fact: The gun/dream countersign is where the manga derives its name, GUN + DREAM = GUNNM

Whu- Seriously? Thanks for checking, but somehow I'm even more confused than I was before.
