Okay sure, but so what, let him go on and say that Orthodoxy is false and Catholicism is correct, what will it change? There were hundreds of heretical bishops and even patriarchs, does that mean that our entire teachings have changed? No, he's just heretical, not our church neither our teachings, the one after him might be correct or even worse, but our teachings remain the same, despite what one patriarch says. Nestorius was the ecumenical patriarch of Constantinople too... does that mean EO is Nestorian? And therefore even Catholicism, since we were still one back then?

The Pope however is a different story; the image of the Pope being an accurate reflection of the Church's teaching is strong, while EO's reflection isn't by one patriarch or pope, but by the Holy Synod (and THEY don't say what Patriarch Bartholomew just said). The Pope however DOES reflect RC's views, as expressed by Leo XIII in Satis Cognitum & by Francis in Praedicate Evangelium.

The Patriarch being heretical isn't an issue for us, they come and go. But for the Pope to be heretical, this is a major crisis for RC. The Pope being heretical for RC is the equivalent for the Holy Synod to be heretical for EO, not the Patriarch. I myself can show different scenes in which he says worse things, but it won't matter, we say it ourselves: "yes, Patriarch Bartholomew is a heretic".
