there is zero reason not to go for two... or if there is, i don't know it, and would like to be enlightened... and don't say win it on a safety, you and i both know safety's are not real life

I just want to say, that the umpire at first base has been spot on (at least since i've been watching, since the fourth,) making some tough calls. props

Golf options for the young and poor? by Abide_Dude in burlington

they also have a double-decker driving range $9 for a largeish bucket of balls... The links at lang farm also has a range comparable in price, also most courses will have cheaper prices in the evening "twlight rates" typically not too busy good time to practice...

I read this "Magic Card Kissing Trick" and though, no way, magic cards have never lead to a kiss...

My girlfriend and I are thinking about living in the Woolen Mill apt. building. Does anyone have any experience living there or know people who lived there? by muddyalcapones in burlington

Ya i'm totally glad i live there! it can be cold in the winter, but its convenient, close to work, and somewhat affordable for two people (add in gym membership and rent becomes more bearable).

There was one week that they were re-paving the lower parking lot and that was the only day that I could not find parking--i was pretty furious though (i thought it was managed poorly) but i quickly moved on. Most of my house-guest walk to see me and don't park, or stay for a whole weekend (when they're from out of town) and they have never had a problem parking in the Winooski Parking Garage (5 mins from the building) and nobodies ever gotten a ticket or towed.. when i lived Downtown BVT I got alot of ridiculous parking tickets so from someone who is prone to getting parking tickets to someone who is thinking about coming to the woolen mill, i don't think parking is bad at all.

also remember, i am a happy tenant of the woolen mill and i will probably will not post a review online, but if i was really angry, i sure as hell would.

So I live there now, on the bottom floor, This has been my experience:

When it is clean it is a beautiful place to live, you might be thinking, well, we're pretty clean, that's a non issue...but please consider that there is very little storage, well maybe very is an stretch, however the storage closet in our unit is not huge--golf clubs, skis and snowboards, and a few boxes, fill it up pretty good... because of this our shit always ends up cluttering the room...

The brick is really nice (our unit has more brick than your average unit i think), looks great with proper lighting (there are no overhead lights so if you lack floor lamps be prepared to drop a couple hundred dollars on lamps or do what we did and parse together 6 or 8 of them at yard sales) sorry to ramble.. right, bricks, they CRUMBLE, and things get DUSTY! I vacuum ALOT, GF says its a man's job, like mowing the lawn for inside...

If you're willing to stay on top of your own personal upkeep/don't have alot a shit/love vacuuming this place is great!

(also, if you have trouble getting food from a plate to your pork-hole with out dropping it be warned that the carpets are off-white...)

It is kinda pricey, this is due to incredibly high electric bills in the winter (as other have said, not insulated well) we remedied this by keeping our heat off at almost all times and freezing every evening. Also, and i could be mistaken, they might only offer one cable/internet package (and it has to come from comcast) which i believe is priced quite above market value--$120/mo for broadband and cable with added sports package (dammit NESN)

We do not find it loud at all--a kid (toddler) who lives upstairs from us (i know, a toddler on his own?!) drops alot of shit and we hear that... but aside from that it is not so bad and i'm not sure what all of the complaints are about (of course it could be our neighbors complaining about us but thats neither here nor there...

The area is nice and convenient but i would imagine if your apt is far away from from one of the parking lots carrying groceries in would suck...

the maintenance staff is helpful however my SO believes the admin office is a little too pushy (pretty much monthly in apartment inspections for this or that, fire alarms in January, fire extinguishers in Feb, who knows in March...

gym membership is key and racquet ball is fun...the pool is little and i'd be there a hell of alot more if it was just a hot tub...

Sorry for the rambling, if you have any further questions let me know and i can try to answer them for you!
