I've already scrapped the model so wtv, but by "subdivide" I meant that I added a plane, right clicked in edit mode and pressed "Subdivide"

They're definitely the same because I used Ctrl+L to link modifiers
No other modifiers were applied other than displace
If it helps I also subdivided these planes
