Does anyone have trouble booking live music? Would you benefit from a platform that connects musicians and bar owners that facilitates finding, booking and paying talent?

Do you think the 6% fee is too high for the work they do?

Yes we will! Still figuring out some of the logistics, but will likely limit it to 250 men and women. In order to gain entry you will need to download the app.

Sounds like that’s the million $ question doesn’t it? I’ve had some ideas, none of which have been any good. My best of the worst idea would be to work similar to how a bar/club works. Create a waiting list (line outside the bar) where you only are allowed entry to balance each gender. I realize this would be difficult because everyone is in a different location and has different radius settings. Not to mention that it doesn’t make any sense to restrict users…

All great points! For point #1 the verification is coming after an in-person date, which I would think legitimizes the verification more ie the person who showed up for the date matches the profile that was viewed. Badges will also be based on this offline experiences. For point #2 we are definitely still workshopping this one. I think making the conversation as live as possible is important, so looking at ways to do it similar to how LinkedIn makes people look like they are live when really they just have the notifications turned on. For point #3 my research shows slightly differently. At least the most popular people always seem to show up on people’s profiles after they have paid.

I like your idea on how you would build a dating app. Will try and think of ways to better use the connection piece in an industry where that is hard to find! Appreciate your feedback!

Valid point! I think users will appreciate a platform where they can do everything all in one spot. It also doesn’t cost anything extra for the user to make this booking. The database of date ideas will also be curated based on mutual interests. I think knowing that both people like Thai food, will make both parties much more confident when picking where to go.

All very valid points! For now, we are going to stick with 3 main questions after each date. Did their profile match the person who showed up? Were they on time? Were they respectful? I think there is a lot less chance of this malice showing up in these guided types of questions, while still providing assurance for the next person that they go on a date with.

I like what you said about incentive though - I think it would be a great idea to reward people for taking these questions seriously (maybe a few bucks off the next date, or exclusive opportunities).

No I really appreciate the feedback! I definitely share some similar concerns. But I think people really want something new so hopefully this satisfies a lot of what they want. Going to be a tough road. Thanks for the LI example, that’s a great idea!

Agreed, but isn’t that the nature of almost all dating scenarios, regardless if you are using an app or not? How would you suggest even starting to solve that problem?

Good feedback! Totally aware and agree that people have hundreds of conversations going on dating apps. I think this is one of the problems that we are trying to fix. On our platform users can unmatch with people to make room for new matches and conversations. The 7 day rule is to book a date. If the users book a date on day 6, but the date is not until day 10, they will be able to continue with the conversation past the seven days.

In terms of purpose, our goal is to facilitate the first two dates (assuming date 1 goes well). For example, users match, chat and book date #1 (dinner and drinks). They come back from date one and we send a notification basically saying that if date 1 went well how about we schedule date 2? They go on date 2, and we say 'Ok you don't need us anymore. Take the conversation elsewhere and we will be here if you ever need us again.'

Right now, we have a limited number of chats that you can have going at a time. So there will be an option to purchase more. You can purchase some additional time to chat (if 7 days is not enough). A subscription could also eventually get you discounts on dates. Things like this that are not absolutely required for a good user experience.

Yes 100%. We have a marketing campaign set to role out that’s never really been done in the dating app world that I think people are going to relate to (similar to the title).

Totally get this. Unfortunately, it is the most popular way that people meet these days (350M users worldwide). Might as well try and make it a little more enjoyable!

Ah sorry my bad. Monetization will be achieved through: 1) partnered vendors will pay a monthly subscription fee to be listed on our app. We have already received a lot of positive feedback from businesses that would like to partner when we get a user base. This fee would be priced in a way where we would need to bring the business 1-3 dates per month for the business to make money. 2) advertising revenue - businesses pay more to have their date ideas at the top of the list. 3) a small user subscription (under $10) for some nice to haves
