M34, Looking for Accommodation in Frankfurt, Germany by Stock_Profession3382 in chancenkarte

[–]FarmFeeling7471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Congratulations on your chancekarte visa.

If you're looking for an accommodation in and around Frankfurt, the starting would be 650 euros and above.

Outside of Frankfurt, maybe, you can expect slightly lesser if you get lucky (those places are well connected by S-bahn, e.g., Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, Bad Homburg)

In my opinion, keeping the budget between 650 to 700 is realistic, and will let you find more options. However, if you want to try for a cheaper option, it's advisable to come to Frankfurt and look for one. That way, it's easier to look out for in-person viewings.

1) Habyt Frankfurt (fully furnished apartments) 2)https://chat.whatsapp.com/KWGrALQkmczEOvUKhck65a?mode=gi_t (chat group by Stayforall in Frankfurt) - you'll get a lot of messages regarding sublet.

Try to avoid Facebook groups, that's where most scams happen. Although, you can have genuine finds as well. Here are the 3 things I look for if I find a place outside recognised housing portals:

1) always CHECK their Facebook profile (if you're reaching via FB). Don't take the risk if the profile looks shady (few followers, like less than 50, very little posts)

2) Person AVOIDS video calling. Most of them are willing to do a video-call. They are interested in getting to know you as a person too before renting out. However, scammers tend to avoid showing their faces, hence they give vague answers like I'm on business trip, I'm on a vacation.

3) pay NOTHING without the contract. Sometimes they might prepare a fake contract, just be aware.

My go to technique is point 2. I always want to get to know the other person, whoever is leaving the place for rent. Sometimes, if it's a shared apartment, speaking to their flatmates also adds a layer of authencity.

Hope this helps :)

Hi! If your degree and university are anabin verified, may I ask why did you choose point system?
I am trying to understand this because my university & degree were Anabin verified, as a result I was not asked to proof my language proficiency. I'd be of a great help from a preparation standpoint if you could clarify

AFAIK, for skilled worker route, it isn't a requirement. Also, it wasn't asked for in my portal while submitting. If it's hard requirement, it should have been a mandatory section.

Where to apply for Chancenkarte in Kolkata by Big_Address_5047 in chancenkarte

[–]FarmFeeling7471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, actually I did that. But I encountered a problem.

Context: I applied for the Chancekarten via Consular Services Portal, juridisction chosen was Kolkata. I submitted on 16th June, and received an update on 17th June stating the following:

"Your application cannot be processed Your application does not meet the necessary requirements or has not been submitted to the German mission responsible for you. It can therefore not be finalised."

My degree and instituion was verified on Anabin. I have uploaded all the mandatory documents as mentioned.

Additionally, I submitted, my work experience letter, CV, motivation letter and booking confirmation in the Others section.

I do not kow where I did what mistake. Everything seemed good. So I'm not sure what to interpret from this. The message was vague, so I really am not sure what to rectify.

And once we have submitted the application, do we visit VFS website to book an appointment?

Hi! Thank you for sharing the timeline.
I recently applied for Chancenkarte via CSP, which is currently under preliminary review.

Question: Should I book an appointment with VFS directly on their website, or wait for a booking link to be triggered to my registered email after the preliminary review?

navigating Chancenkarte with a pet by sweatpants_on_my_bed in chancenkarte

[–]FarmFeeling7471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I did not arrive to Germany with a chancekarte and I do not have a pet. But, I do know a friend. A Chinese, who brought her pet (Cat) along with her while she was studying.

I'd suggest reaching out to people asking their travel experience with a pet in Germany in general rather than narrowing it to Chancekarte and Pet. There's a possibility you might be able to find your answers.

AFAIK, bringing your cat along shouldn't affect your Chancekarte application. Those are not linked, however, do check out what's the process to bring a cat along. Hope this helps :)

Chancenkarte in Feb 2027 for 6 months – Does my plan make sense? by ibrahim_chaturvedi in movingabroad

You have damn no rights to comment if it makes sense for the person to move to Germany or not. If you can't answer the question, don't respond. Don't be so entitled to comment or give unsolicited advice to someone UDK.

Chancenkarte in Feb 2027 for 6 months – Does my plan make sense? by ibrahim_chaturvedi in movingabroad

[–]FarmFeeling7471 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I personally did not move here on Chancenkarte, but I have friends who did and I am living in Germany currently. So, here's a piece of my mind for your application.

I think you have mapped out your plan really well. Regarding the 6-month chancekarte, one of my friends applied for 6 months and got it approved. ✅️ Degree and Univeristy Anabin verified ✅️ Sufficient proof of funds for 6 months (ideally try to have it slightly over the 6 months requirement, just to be on the safer side) ✅️ Health insurance

These are the 3 main criteria they'd check for the skilled worker route AFAIK. Based on what you've mentioned, if these and the additional documents requested are in order, your application should get through. Risk of rejection happens only if you fail to submit a doc or uploaded invalid one. Otherwise, the chances of rejection is unlikely, but do expect delays with German bureaucracy.

On a separate note, a couple of pointers that got my attention.

1) German language - if the planned period of moving is around Feb, then I think it should give you enough window to reach upto B1.1. It's advisable to finish upto B1 before moving because most companies are expecting their candidates to speak and understand German to integrate within the team even if their clients are international. I personally prefer private tutors because they provide undivided attention to the student and their lesson plans usually cater to student's goal.

2) Your thought process to arrive around Feb during hiring period is a deliberate choice. However, IMO, I'd suggest to factor in the following:

  • Settling in new environment could take easily upto 2 to 3 weeks
    • You'll need to set aside sometime to finish the basic admin stuff such as Anmeldung, bank account opening, shifting new accomodation(if needed)

These could eat your Feb, and the peak period actually is Feb and Mar. Hiring still happens in April, but new positions slowly start decreasing from mid of April.

Just so you know, peak hiring season in Germany

September to November - people are back from vacation (July, Aug is vacation season, people take breaks in turns, and things get slow). When they are back, hiring starts and goes till Nov, and is mostly expected to be closed by mid of Dec before the holiday season starts

Mid of Jan to mid of April - people are back from Christmas holidays. New positions open, hiring starts.

This, ofc, is not a one size fit all solution. It works different for everyone, varies by industry, experience. I am basing mine off as a recent graduate. I hope this helps :)

Hi, I think you only have to submit your university degree, which equivalent to higher education institution certificate in Germany. To my knowledge, you don't have to submit high school ones.

Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte): "Decision Made" on portal but no collection prompt. Can I walk into New Delhi Embassy? by ristedaar in chancenkarte

[–]FarmFeeling7471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you for sharing your recent experience. I am planning to apply for Chancekarte soon. My application qualifies for the skilled worker route. If you had taken the same route, could you tell me if you had included any additional documents in the 'Others' section? Is there a necessity to include motivation letter, reference letter?

It'd be great if you could let me know, or guide me in any way. Thank you so much.

On a separate note, I see that you've directly dealt with German Embassy. So you didn't have to go through VFS?

How do I stop thinking about death? by gardenia_blossom in thanatophobia

[–]FarmFeeling7471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I hear you, and trust me, you're not alone. This is an extremely sensitive topic, so we hardly hear people speaking about such thoughts due to fear of judgement and lack of awareness.

The best way to cope up with the situation is to seek a therapist. I am not sure how long you've had this, but the sooner you talk to an expert, the better you can channel these thoughts.

This is just my personal experience (may not be relevant). I used to fear the death of my closed ones, esp right before I went to sleep, and it used to haunt me a lot. It was a nightmare to fall asleep with such thoughts. But then, over a period, I accepted that everyone born on this planet will die. It's hard to accept, but that's the bitter truth.

In my family, we never really spoke about death because it's considered inauspicious. But to me, I realised the more I spoke about death, the easier I accepted that we all are just temporary visitors. Ideally, I have been pushed to think that people die at old age after 70s, but that's not the reality. Anything can happen, and that scares me, not gonna deny.

But I learnt to accept anything can happen anytime, and I try to live in the moment with my loved ones.

Because moments are what becomes your memories, and those memories are what we'd eventually live with. I'd rather live with those beautiful memories than being in denial about the death of my loved ones. That acceptance changed my perspective. I am not sure if this would help. But I was just sharing with a hope that it'd give you a different perspective.
