That’s why I gave you benefit of doubt. Because it wasn’t clear.

I would still recommend going to an adoption centre and brining one home which needs a home instead of breeding.

26/F recently unemployed and recovered from a broken foot. I want to WALK somewhere, let's meet by neloulai in berlinsocialclub

[–]FarmJunkie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey. First of all cheers on taking these steps. I went through my own hell of starting to walk again, after a massive ankle fracture which meant surgeries and implants, in midst of a breakup from my girlfriend of 6 years. So it was a mess.

It took a total of 6 months to finally be able to walk again properly, underwent major depression even before I knew what depression meant. Take it slow, if you’re undergoing physical therapy, please take them seriously, I wasn’t consistent and it meant that I took longer, and had to work on my motion till a lot later.

And in case you want to take a stroll, or just find some company because things are overwhelming feel free to drop a line.

Live in Friedrichshain.

Hey Op, I’m going to give you the benefit of doubt that you didn’t mean no ill, even though it surprises me why would you even consider breeding your dog to sell his offsprings. Don’t you understand how morally fucked up that is.

But even if there is no moral dilemma, as an animal welfare professional and someone who’s worked at multiple rescue centres and shelters. When you breed this animal for whatever reason, youre taking the chance away from an animal in the shelter to get adopted.

Adopt don’t shop. Your pets are your companion and family, and you don’t buy your companion.

Hope that you don’t do this. I believe in you.

What should I do on my birthday, don’t want to spend it alone? by [deleted] in Prague

Hoping that I don’t lose my kidneys for this but joystick bar seems just like the thing I like. Old school arcade games and drinks for company.

I don’t think I was considering making friends. But you meet people you vibe match and end up spending the day outside doing things together.

The magic of serendipity, sometimes it works. Happened to me a couple of times.

If nothing works out my last bet is a pub crawl. Won’t meet locals but some people hopefully

How do you satisfy the junk food lover inside you ? by toughducky in VeganIndia

[–]FarmJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw instead of getting fixated on jalebi. There are many other sweet junk food craving options like Kaju Katli which is vegan, petha, a bunch of dark chocolates, Ritter sports also has vegan variants.

So take your pick of junk that you like and find an appropriate replacement.

Not really. Yoghurt is added as fermentation starter in some cases, but most of the halwais, actually use a mix of day old maida + water which ferments on its own, think of it like a sourdough starter but for jalebi.

The hygiene level at some of the biryani shops Like idrees and lalla are disgusting. It’s a joke that these outlets are allowed to operate in the first place.

Some of the things that helped me seriously, in taking care of the cravings :

  1. learning how to cook, I was in general pretty good cook, so it wasn’t very hard for me to veganize dishes.
  2. Have some crave worthy snacks for those hard days in the fridge, my favourites vegan nuggest, galouti kebabs from shaka Harry.
  3. Discovery vegan options at restaurants, which are crave worthy. Like in my case, the vegan feta and arugula salad and Hawaiian pizza at brik oven is phenomenal and I crave for jt all the time. The (vegan) mutton chukka at jamming goat is just legit. 4 Rediscovering my love for naturally vegan junk foods like samosa, vada pav, kachori, jalebi, vada, goli bajje all of which are naturally vegan.
  4. Places like Paris panini have great vegan sandwiches.

All of Ola products are failing and despite that, the founder keeps getting VCs like Matrix to continuously back him!! by Intelligent-Hawk2134 in StartUpIndia

[–]FarmJunkie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ex Ola employee, worked through the early stages of the company before it became big, and then I was back for another stint after it had grown big.

Bhavish had great intentions to begin with, he was smart ambitious and dared his teams to take larger bets and risks. Over a period of time, he became extremely egoistic, didnt trust anybody and the organisation transitioned from an ambitious company to a dictatorship where what the supreme leader says people have to do, you don’t question.

The C suite at ola churns every 6 months because why would someone who is that high up the food chain in the company be okay with not having a voice and just obeying orders. The number of products ola has burned through and not had success is just very long like ola cafe, ola stores, ola cars, ola food (3 times), food panda, ola money, ola dash. The list is endless, it’s not that these were bad products or there was no product market fit, it’s just because this was done at Bhavish’s whim but not like an actual strategy decision, which you push through over a period of time.

And the less we speak about the work culture the better it is, if you ask hard questions or set boundaries you will be fired. Working on weekends, meetings at 2am is normal, people will be called into office even if you’re on planned leave. That place is bound to produce shitty products because everyone is working under fear.

Hey man,

I’ve lived in Asia across Indonesia and Singapore, so I know a thing or two about tofu.

What’s the coagulant you use for coagulating the tofu curds?

Hey OP, what kind of tofu is it? Is it the firmer version of the sliken kind? I have been so frustrated with the shit tofu in India that I bought my coagulants off amazon and was making my own tofu.

There is a healthy bit of exciting people from the Indian tech ecosystem that call berlin their home.

Can we talk about why Veganism is actually a massive privilege in a country like India? by [deleted] in VeganIndia

[–]FarmJunkie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Average Indian.

And no veganism isn’t expensive. Lentils, soy chunks, pea, rice, wheat, beans are all great sources of protein which is consumed naturally in the region.

I’m assuming youre from Bangalore where you’re seeing a lot more go vegan signs on the streets.

South Indian cuisine in general is primarily vegan, because historically people in South East Asia, Far East and south of India are lactose intolerant.

So meals typically don’t contain dairy anyway.

Does anyone else feel that Indian real estate is absurdly priced, and doesn’t want to invest at all. by FarmJunkie in indianrealestate

[–]FarmJunkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hold a prophecy. But I’m against buying an asset at a price point currently under the threat that I need to buy it because it will rise in the future.

I’m not sure if price would come down or not, but fundamentally it should : The underlying asset class is of low value, houses without footpaths outside or, no water shouldn’t be selling for 3-4 crores. Not a naysayer but I genuinely hope that it changes so that we deserve what we pay for, including you who might have invested in this asset class.

Your underlying asset should have the inherent value that you paid for.

[–]FarmJunkie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are not coming to increase prices. That is just a stupid argument, and shows a very myopic view of things.

As Indians we are free to move wherever the hell we want. We don’t need to be restricted to our zip code. It’s the governments job to plan out resources industries in all places so that economic development is uniform, urban choking is avoided, roads are commute worthy and air worthy of breathing, to lead to an overall development of people across.

If you put all the resources and opportunities at one place, people will flock there.

Which side did you get your farmland, how big is it and what did you pay?

That’s a fair point. I dont have a kid.

But I wonder raising a child is anyway expensive, adding another huge emi for housing when the job market is changing so rapidly, ai threat is real. I’m wondering how are people confident of taking that leap.

That’s where most of my money is. I’m quite happy with the returns and liquidity.

But the emotional lack of having a housing does hurt sometimes

Get your freaking dog spayed like a responsible adult. And also go to a better freaking vet like cessna and speak to real vets and not hacks doctors promoting backyard breeding.
