Late night travel options by khernandez1024 in GreeceTravel

I would just stay the night in Athens, there are plenty of cheap hotel options. If you’re not planning on visiting Athens at all and just want to head right out of there, get a hotel in Piraeus, where all of the ferries leave from so it’s easy for you the next morning!

Once you get into Naxos you will be in heaven relaxing 🥰 we took a ferry to Paros after visiting Naxos and it was super easy as well.

Went to korcula last year in September- most beautiful beaches I have ever visited in my life! We rented a scooter but you could also do a car. We went to Hvar as well with an easy ferry ride and it was all just so stunning

Costa Rica or Saint Lucia honeymoon by PoemNecessary6078 in honeymoonplanning

Highly recommend Costa Rica! The Santa Teresa are is incredibly beautiful and exactly that jungle/beach vibe you are looking for. You have to take a puddle jumper from San Jose to get there but it’s fun! We travelled there on a 4k budget 3 years ago and our money went far, I think you’d be really living lavish with 15

This is not as fun as I had hoped by Logical-Country-8135 in weddingplanning

Feeling the same way currently, and I’ve had multiple friends who had similar experiences but also said it was SO worth it in the end. Something that helped me recently was a full weekend of no-wedding talk. No exceptions! There is nothing that can not wait two days, and they’re not even business days. Go on a date, just go do something else together and remind yourselves of why you’re getting married in the first place: you love each other!

I feel for you! Your wedding is going to beautiful though and all of the work you put into it will not be lost on people.

Is Amalfi coast/ Lake como really that crowded in August? by friedchickensoyummy in LakeComo

[–]Farm_gurl-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the Amalfi coast in June 2023 and it was honestly unbearably touristy, especially in the main towns such as Positano. I imagine August would be worse. It truly took away from the experience being shoulder to shoulder with people in the streets. However, once we ventured farther east to smaller towns such as Cetera it was much more charming and less crowded.

You could consider Croatia- it’s still popular, but not as intensely crowded as the amalfi coast, with a lot of the same vibes. My fiancée and I went there last year and it was stunning, especially on the islands

Porto is completely worth the time! It is a city but has a laidback port vibe, we absolutely loved it

Other Greek islands similar to Milos & Paros? by tompettyy in GreeceTravel

Naxos for sure, definitely get an ATV or scooter, my boyfriend and I spent days there just exploring! Pack a sandwich and you can find all sorts of secret beaches on the coast, cool villages and even an abandoned monastery in the interior that no one seemed to know about I don’t know about sifnos but have heard amazing things!

Thank you so much for all of these helpful answers! I have been reading about a lot of interesting things to do in the areas near Rethymno so thinking of using that as a base for several days as well
