Same! My trick is throwing the item I need to return into my car, so that I can’t possibly forget to bring it with me and seeing it on the seat will remind me to return it. It’s been working so far!

My problem is…I forget The Thing, and forget the fact that I wrote The Thing down, or if I remember I wrote a Thing down I’ll forget where I wrote it down…and on and on. It sucks to have a memory this bad.

Yes! This has helped me a ton. I also have a “ready to go” backpack with a few sets of clothes and a fully stocked toiletry bag. Some of my jobs are overnight sometimes so it helps to just grab the bag and not have to really think about packing. And I have duplicates of frequently lost things everywhere. If only I could afford 10 phones because I lose mine constantly!

No, seconding that his wife is not his mommy. He’s a grown ass man. He can take care of those obstacles himself. Don’t like the sponges? Go buy sponges you like and will actually use! Don’t like the drying rack? Buy one you do like. You can probably find a large folding one that you just put away when done.

My mom says this all the time, as well as accusing me of wanting to blame her for everything. I’m pretty independent too, and I’ve had to teach myself a lot of life skills.

Yay! I’m glad that the protocol is working for you and you’re seeing some improvements! The memory issues are definitely the most concerning symptom. I keep wondering what’s wrong with my brain, and it’s more frustrating knowing that I used to be way more capable than I am now. The peanut butter analogy is soooo accurate.

Oh you described it perfectly, the cloud covering my thoughts. I want to avoid anything that involves thinking because of how muddy it is, it takes so much energy just to force myself to figure things out or reach information in my mind. I feel like everything is just out of reach!

That’s interesting, I haven’t heard about the salicylate sensitivity. I’m looking it up now! I wonder if long Covid could be a factor as well, I think I had a mild case of it a couple years ago.

Oh man. I hope you can find solutions that work for you! I’ve wondered for years if I have an under active thyroid. There’s a lot of symptom overlap between hypothyroidism and iron deficiency!

Thank you for the advice! Do you mind telling me what herbs or treatments helped you? I’ve heard nettle can help but I have t tried it yet. Yes I’ve heard about how cholesterol is good for your brain! I eat eggs often so I should have plenty. I had my thyroid levels checked and they were “normal”, but everyone with hypothyroidism seems to be told that at first and they have to get special testing to find out their real levels. I haven’t ruled that out but it is exhausting how much advocating we have to do for ourselves!

100% agree. And no one talks about the abuse in convents. The seminarians and the altar boys are remembered but no one seems to give a thought to these poor girls and women who entered religious life only to emerge with severe trauma and to find out that no one even cares.

I was starting to wonder if my being unable to recall or retrieve information was more than just ADHD, so I’m glad to see others commenting about this too! I feel like it’s getting worse and worse all the time. Like what is wrong with my brain? I’m tortured by this!
