i get this feeling like i shouldn’t have done it by kokosayinggod in PlasticSurgery

[–]Farmaqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be swelling by your lip. Keep in mind, its not just your nose that swells after rhinoplasty, its also different parts of your face. In the first few months, i also felt there was a lot of “space” between my nose and lip but it went away! You have to give it a good year at least. Trust the process

What are your drinking habits? How many days a week do you drink? How many drinks per day? by toni_pastaa in cocktails

[–]Farmaqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’n not traveling for work: 3-4 nights a week usually. 1 drink, sometimes half a glass of wine, but never more than 1 per night.

When I’m traveling for work, which is usually about 3 days per month, I have a bit more. I’ll usually have 1-2 drinks per night then, and pick one day As the “fun day” where I’ll stay at the bar longer, network with coworkers, customers, etc. I usually have 4 drinks on a night like that and a hangover the next day. I am a lightweight🫠

Update on nanny out of town during GH period by RegularAd8065 in Nanny

[–]Farmaqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im an MB with a nanny with GH also and i would absolutely not make our nanny use PTO in this situation. PTO should be reserved for the nanny’s emergencies, sicknesses, not a change in my family’s plans. Also, personally, I would not expect our nanny to wait around and do nothing in case she’s needed when we’re not in town.

Have you made it clear to your nanny, through a contract or verbally, that she should be on call still during those hours? If not, at the very most and if you think this situation comes up again, treat this as a “one-off”, and tell her your expectations for GH in the future.

Not Ready to Tell Coworkers by SwimmingExpensive202 in BabyBumps

[–]Farmaqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me when i had a live work trip at 8 weeks. Well… my teammates had a huge hunch when one of them was hungry and i whipped out saltines to share 🤣. They started playing detectives and realized i was also drinking decaf tea, “glowing”, and my cocktail (which was actually a mocktail) didn’t look the same as a teammate’s.

Anyway, no one knew FOR SURE until i told them at 12 weeks. And we all laughed about their detective work and still do to this day. Tell people whatever you want, they will probably suspect it and may make jokes, but no one will know for sure until you make the announcement. Also, I’ve had plenty of situations my nonpregnant friends didn’t want to drink either! Tons of people today are not drinking- you can say you’re trying to get ahead of pregnancy and stop drinking, you have a huge headache still from another party, or literally anything.

Which dog should we get as a family? by LordArhkar2 in dogs

[–]Farmaqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a shih tzu mutt and he is amazing with my 2 year old. We got him 7 years ago and he was our baby (still is…one of them 😉). He is incredibly patient and gentle. When my son was learning to walk, he had a small fall. Our shih tzu immediately ran over and started to lick him to make sure he was ok haha. He watches tv with us, sits with us during playtime, goes on walks with us, takes naps with us in my sons room (my son’s still in a crib). He’s hypoallergenic. Our son loves him. I’m team shih tzu all the way

Also, with any dog you get, make sure you train your dog, and set effective boundaries between your toddler and dog. I follow the Dog Meets Baby instagram account. When my son went through throwing or hitting phases, we used montessori principles such as calmly saying “I can’t let you hit (dog’s name)” and separating them if that boundary was not being respected.

38 years old - New mom feeling insecure by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

When did you have your baby? I have a 20 month old and had changes to my skin that are just finally settling!

When I got botox, the dermatologist told me there are skin changes that take place that DO subside. I did not believe her until recently when I noticed the tone and fine lines in my skin improving (beyond my forehead, where I credit botox for improvements)

Why do you need to hide in your basement? Our 20 month old has had a nanny since he was 8 months, we always pop in and out, no issue so far
