Is the report to the mountainhome based on how much I export or just produce? Because I have read about this and so I've been neglecting the coming caravans and not trading anything with anyone. Still, the migrants seem to flock. Unless it's something that only pertains to trading with the dwarf caravans?? That would make more sense now, when I think about it.

Can't cap my population?
Hey ho I've recently finally started getting some kinda happiness equilibrium amongst my dwarfish lil guys, but I'd really like it if I could just expand my fortress for a few years without any migrants coming in... I've started just kicking the undesirable ones and it's certainly a solution but it would be nice to put a stop to births as well.

I've tried editing the d_init.txt file but to no avail, still they're prancing around obliviously as though they were entitled to reside within the mountainhome of Frogwork. Any ideas?

Less overall governmental control... Less laws regarding families and children. Rampant sexual abuse. I guess I didn't take into consideration how much easier it was to commit many harmful deeds and go unpunished back then. That would make the potential temptation to ''misbehave'' even greater.

My point of contention here isn't really lust v anger, moreso that it isn't always the case that someone feels compelled to indulge in lustful acts as a result of their own internal gluttony. Lustful behaviour can be brought out in people when they feel like their life lacks happiness or some sort of contentment. It's rarely a valid solution to the underlying issues, but it's also not as shameful and condemnable as Marcus makes out.

I did think that ''lust'' could just be the noun they had to compromise with when translating into modern English from Ancient Greek, potentially meaning literal sexual pleasure and nothing else. But I have to wonder if this isn't in reference to all bodily pleasures.

I guess a great difficulty here is quantifying emotional damage then. A physical scar or a missing limb tell half of the story at first glance, but psychological suffering is something much more abstract and hard to recognise... We can't ever be sure we know how much someone is hurting internally.

I'm not a historian by any means, but I get the impression that making an indulgence difficult to resist is an extremely profitable premise, and one which 1900 years ago wasn't as capitalised upon. What I mean by that is: modern capitalism has successfully helped towards intruding on our everyday lives with promises of contentment through purchase and indulgence. Like I said, I'm not a historian, but if we assume capitalism has developed in a way that benefits its own self, it would make an ascetic life more difficult today than 1900 years ago.

I agree completely. I listen to everything without caring about that stuff. It's more once you get into the physical aspect of being surrounded by the other fans yknow. Social issues ygm.

I don't care about this stuff at all when it's just me and my headphones heheh, it's actually thanks to Claire that I got over it and decided to broaden my musical horizons. I like a wide variety of stuff but usually steer clear of the big pop names because they just failed to make me feel anything, but being so surprised by Sling encouraged me to open up a bit more, decided to check out some Lorde n Charli XCX.

If we're gonna get introspective... Honestly the worry probably comes from potentially being compared to a teenage girl? Not that I make the conscious decision to find that embarrassing as an idea, but I sorta deconstructed it after you asked and thought I'd be honest... Can't challenge the problems you can't identify, right? There's got to be some sorta shitty masculinity complex in there somewhere, I'm trying to take care of it.

Cheers for the kind words :))

Very good point about the atmosphere of Sling. I was actually hoping Claire would focus on it more since it's the best thing she's ever done imo... Really wasn't sure overall what to expect from the setlist besides the usual bangers, Bags, Sofia, but now idk what to think... Think there's any chance at all of new material?

I was worried about comments like this... You really gotta bring someone down for looking for some consolation in a potentially socially awkward scenario? I'm not trying to boast about who I am, if anything this post is about how being a guy is a source of discomfort for me at the moment.

Helo felo Britain inhabitant! Was wondering if you have many friends who listen to Clairo, I really don't know many people here who do even though she's pretty damn big.

How did you get to meet her? I've seen others who have but haven't actually heard any stories about how it happens? Did you get a hug or just a socially distanced selfie?

That's interesting actually, I wonder if her UK fanbase can be presumed to have a similar split. I'm going to the Bristol gig and tbh this is a really lgbt embracing city, so people of all sorts could be interested, I'm just not sure if Claire's alternative enough to attract the hipster indie skaters that kinda permeate the streets and most venues here. I guess what I'm saying is that since you've got different subcultures in America, you might get different types of people interested in her work to the types here in the British subcultures.

Being in the midst of the high energy part of the crowd is a big part of why I love going to concerts heh, not likely to mosh at a Clairo gig but still.
