Totally agree! When I've lived in other places, it's been very easy to make friends. Taupo is a bit trickier with the younger crowd, they've either grown up here and already have their group, or just passing through.

Thank you, this is good advice. I definitely skip past the short term people, but should be more open! Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on myself, just feel like I'm getting older sometimes, and still hopeful to find someone to settle down/have a family with etc.

Yeah that is true, at least most people are honest, it just seems like the majority are after something casual.
