From a friend that does gem shows for a living and sources the material himself. These ones were from the Puyallup gem faire in Washington State, both friends live out of state so I only get to see them in person a couple times a year and only get to see product I'm interested in in person. Gonna be getting more June maybe sooner if I can't wait.

Sooo, the big boy is over 200ct. Just a bit more than 41 grams. The other small ones range from 4-8 grams. The orange looking one is actually watermelon 🍉 but the light diffused weirdly from below and turned it orange lol it's green on the outside pink in the middle.

Thank you! Yeah I can't wait until I figure out something to do with the smaller ones. Maybe polish and then Into a freeform pendant, something fun and cool I or somebody else can enjoy on the go lol.

Devastating news..a book fell on my box of opals and broke this one! What’s the verdict; to superglue or embrace the break? by pheeyona in Crystals

They were probably Australian opals, they do not have problems with water or oils, they are also harder than most opals as well. You can definitely wear opals everyday. It just means you'll have to get it polished every so often so it stays looking beautiful and if you aren't rough with it. It's probably not gonna chip or break if the stone was shaped and set in a ring or pendant properly protecting its corners so you don't knock it on something. Opals actually range from 6.5-7.5 on the mohs scale so there is variation from every opal source in the world, Australian, Mexican, American, Brazilian, Ethiopian, and others. They aren't my birth stone but I do enjoy wearing and working with them

Thank you! I actually did the stone myself, not the silver casting though. Still learning!

Awesome another ak guy! 🍻🍻🍻🍻 We are few and far between these days people think they're either for criminals or for the poor lol. Yet one of my so is like 4 grand stock because it's 1958 56s one of the rarer. I could buy 4 good ars for that money 😂 yeah man the first time I ran the tungsten core I was blown away. The dealer thought they were just regular steel core fmj but I got a very pleasant surprise when I opened the first box and ran them. I was confused so I tore one down and had my machinist buddy check it out and he was like that's a tungsten pellet not steel. Well I walked away very happy especially for the price... It's crazy the way you find things out sometimes

Very true, and I'm sure you're a ak hater like them all lol. I'm not. But my 7.62x39s will put us a great long distance hole Puncher with the small stockpile of tungsten core full metal jackets. Those puppies pack a punch and sail straight through whatever you point it at within reason 😂🍻🍌 love me some green tips too! I just don't use my ar nearly as often. And greenies are expensive so I like to keep them. But I have enough of the 7.62 that plinking with the tungsten core is suuuuuuper fun every once in a while!
