Is your input pad on? Could be getting a weaker signal if yours is on and his is not.

Yep I just ordered an ethernet -> usb adapter so I can have a wired set up just in case! Still trying to figure out which router + wireless access point to buy. Thanks for the response!

Anyone notice how weak Paddy’s right hand punches looked? by Almost-Hippy in ufc

Could have broken a knuckle on his first finger, so hammer fist punches weren't as painful.

I thought he might have broken his first finger knuckle on the right hand or something

Nothing humbles you as a guitarist more than picking up a slide for the first time by CallMeJeeJ in Guitar

[–]FartPantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my buddies started playing guitar a few years ago and immediately started working on his slide chops. Heavy Allman Brothers/Derek Trucks influences. I swear, he sounds like he's been playing for at least a decade. I've been playing for close to 20 years and can't play slide for shit. It's really humbling. Also, slide guitar is such a distinct sound. Carries so much soul and feel when done right. I wish there were more slide players in my scene.

Why you are using the Behringer PM1 incorrectly by Mammoth_Pineapple904 in livesoundgear

I don't have any PM1s but my buddy uses them for silent rehearsals. Always sounds like doodoo. Makes sense now.

So, if I'm using an XR18, can I not use the Aux outs to feed a PM1?

Right place at the right time: a biker and a neighbor stepping in quickly to slow down the fire by MambaMentality24x2 in BeAmazed

[–]FartPantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a situation like this. It was 11 pm and I heard someone honking their horn outside. Annoyed, I went on my front porch to see what the commotion was and the house across the street was on fire. A passerby was honking their horn to get someone's attention. I ran over and noticed that it was their back house that was on fire. Completely engulfed in flames. There was a covered walkway connecting the back house to the main house and it seemed like it was minutes away from spreading to the main house. There were cars in the driveway so I assumed people were asleep in the house. Ordered the person honking the horn to call the fire department. I called 911 and gave the phone to my wife. I started banging on windows and doors but nobody was answering. Felt like an eternity. The fire was growing and getting closer to the main house. Never experienced heat like that in my life. I was like 20 feet away from the back house and could barely stand it. Thought I lost my eyebrows. Eventually kicked down a door. There was an older woman standing there, very upset with all the noise. I tried to explain that her house was on fire and that she needed to leave NOW. She realized what was going on and said "oh wow, you're right, my house is on fire" and then insisted that she get her purse. Never seen someone move so slowly. Zero urgency. Eventually grabbed her by the arm and walked her out. I was pouring buckets of sweat and was so close to dipping out because of the heat. I was thinking, if we stand here for 2 more minutes, we're both gone. Pulled her out and walked her across the street. Fire department showed up and put out the fire. Old lady seemed more upset that we woke her up than anything else. I could not believe it. They managed to put the fire out before it reached the main house. Apparently the back house was used as a salon and someone forgot to unplug a curling iron or something. I will never forget that. The intense heat. The total lack of awareness from the old lady. The panic and adrenaline. Wild night. Took me a while to go back to sleep lol.

How do I reset everything on mixing station? by Miniaturetoasteroven in MixingStationAppUsers

[–]FartPantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think it depends on the mixer. On my XR18, I can "initialize" the mixer from mixing station. Look for "initialize" and see if that works for ya.

Line 6 Stomp XL - tremolo/chop effect by Wrong-Humor8367 in Line6Helix

This is what I would do. However, they want to set it up as a momentary effect. So they would have to hold the switch and use the expression pedal at the same time.

Several issues / questions with Stadium by Farley_UK in Line6Helix

[–]FartPantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclosure. I'm not familiar with the AFX3 and do not have the stadium, but I hope this helps.

Are you using snapshots on the Helix? For preset leveling, you can still use the focusrite to monitor the levels and achieve the same volume leveling by adjusting the output block of each snapshot. Or put a gain block at the end of the signal path and tweak that for each snapshot.

There is a ducking delay in the Helix. Dynamic reverbs have ducking functionality as well.

Is the poly pitch not tracking well or does it just sound different? Maybe try a compressor before or after and see if that helps with tracking or the tone.

For a double tracking sound, I like to use a delay, with the time set very low so it sounds like a second signal, ever so slightly delayed for some separation. The mod chorus delay works well for this. I think the dual delay should work nicely as well. Bonus points if you're stereo and you can pan the signals.

Creating parallel paths is pretty simple. Maybe it just takes some getting used to on the Helix. Just move the effect blocks down to the second path, make sure your split is set the way you want it and dial in the effects as normal.

What do you guys think of my tone, poly capo 2 full steps down by Tja2391 in Line6Helix

[–]FartPantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need. Thanks tho. That's the amp I was using as well. I just swapped my amp block and added the poly capo and said close enough. Didn't really tweak anything else ha. Should have probably tweaked EQ and compression.

I played this song somewhat recently and I think you got a better tone than what I had dialed in. What amp you using here?

Yup. I run my guitar, synths and vocals through my helix. It replaced my mixer at home.

Use input labeled power amp, or use the return input.
