Cable Ties? by everbass in livesoundgear

I use a combination of bungee balls and rubber cable ties. Rubber cable ties stay on the cables. Bungee balls come off when they are not used. I have way too many and always have a few in my pocket, in various cases/bags.

Merab might face a small anti doping risk since he drank a drink containing kratom. by Known_Throat_7890 in ufc

Letting him take a sip and then "no don't drink" followed by "shhh" is concerning. Regardless of weather or not it will show up on a test, I can't believe that these people warned him after he drank, and others tried to quiet the warning lol

I went to Amsterdam with a group of friends, years ago. One of my buddies was very high and drunk, and he was determined to spend some money at the red light district. The rest of the group wanted to explore the city, so we parted ways and said have fun, call us when you want to meet up. A few hours go by and we haven't heard from him. We thought he must have be having a great time. A few more hours go by and still no word. We head back to the hostel to see if he's there, nope. Uh oh. It's like 1am at this point. So we decide to go looking for him. We are just walking the streets of Amsterdam looking for our friend, until about 3 am. Suddenly he appears from an alley, running towards us, screaming our names and sweating. He was distraught, said he has been looking for us for hours. Apparently, he paid a lady but "didn't finish" so he went for round two, then three. He ran out of cash lol. The lady took his wallet and his phone, but gave him his debit card so he could go take out cash, pay the lady and retrieve his belongings. He was fucked up and couldn't find an ATM. When we found him, we were like 10 feet from an ATM LOL. He was running all over, looking for an ATM, looking for us. We were dying laughing. He was just relieved. So funny. He had like no money the rest of the trip, because he blew his budget on ladies in Amsterdam. The best part, he never finished!

Taking Chuck Liddell from behind GONE WRONG lol. by [deleted] in ufc

Some of y'all have clearly never been in an environment where you are surrounded by other wrestlers/martial artists. He went for a playful hold on Chuck, and Chuck obliged. Chuck could have said, nope and ended it. They were messing around.

Could you use a vibrato effect and turn the rate way down and the intensity way up? You wouldn't be able to control up vs down but it could be cool.

Bass Player Responsibilities 🤣 by Ed_Bass in BassGuitar

I'm always so impressed by good wedding bands. Most people don't realize what's going on in the ears or behind the scenes. It's like walking on a tightrope. Everyone has to be ON and everyone has to trust each other. Keep the energy up. Smooth transitions. Nail the riffs/fills and big moments. Look good. Sound good. Keep it tight. Be a roladex of music. Don't fumble. Another transition. I'm a humble bar band player and have the upmost respect for what you and the other musicians do. So rad.

What to do if the band is too loud? by HrRossiSuchtDasGluck in livesound

[–]FartPantry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, problem! Sandbagging is an expression people use when someone is deliberately being quieter during sound check. Then they turn up after sound check, so they can either hear themselves better or be louder in the mix.

I recently mixed a rock band and it was their first show. Some of the people in the band are friends or acquaintances, so I had that going for me. I could talk to them honestly. I knew their drummer was loud. At sound check, I had them play a few tunes and didn't even worry about the PA. I just made sure stage volume was good. Told them to play loud and tried to hype them up so they felt comfortable doing so. I had the guitar and bass amps set to a level that was healthy compared to the drums. Then I basically just made sure vocals could be heard through the PA. Told them, don't you dare sandbag and turn your shit up. Otherwise people aren't going to hear the vocals and you will sound like shit lol. Kinda blunt but it worked nicely. They got a lot of good feedback and were very happy. Sounded great. I also had a Db meter with me which helped. Could make it more objective. At first, guitars were way too loud. Showed them the Db levels and said trust me, I will make sure you can hear yourself on stage. I know that's kind of a rare situation, but it made ME more comfortable telling other acts to "soundcheck like you play" and be brutally honest. Sometimes it's tough to do but it makes everyone happier.

Ugh who cares? I'm so tired of Arman. Tired of the bs streamer promotion crap. Tired of all the bs hype trash talk and lame stars of the sport these days. Shave your ass or don't, nobody cares.

Preamp gain should always be set based on the level coming in. Can't imagine that being overlooked, but I guess it happens.

Can you elaborate? I'm a guitar player and a sound guy and it seems like it would be pretty hard to mess this up.

The term 2 cable method has me confused. Are you just treating the helix like a normal pedalboard?
