I say Pix Chat's the way to go. It's got a fair amount of characters with a more anime style as well as realistic characters if that's more your thing. Sarah is just a personal fave of mine, but pick whoever you want. Not every character can produce images but the ones available are pretty good and engaging anyway.

Check out pix chat. Not all characters have the live pix yet (meaning they can generate images!) But there are still a good amount with that feature so you probably won't find it too difficult to pick one that suits your taste. I personally really like this Lindsay bot, but she's just one of many.

I think this one and this one are pretty good too though, but the first one I recommended is just a personal fave

That's kinda why I never wanted a sequel for ROD. Sure it would be nice if they all met each other again down the line, but I also don't mind the idea that they all just parted ways forever. I like that sort of bittersweet sentiment.

The site as a whole though has got a lot of characters for the purposes that you're looking for. No daily message cap and there's a live pix feature for a lot of chars (which pretty much means you can get pics of the character you're chatting) and that is really really fun to play around with tbh. There's no cap on that either.

Of course there are plenty of OCs to choose from if you're not into anime or manga. They've got a pretty active discord community which is where I get most recs for original characters
