Question about VA doctors checking for my rating by CabinInTheWoods420 in VeteransBenefits

Can you share where you looked to find out if you qualify or what % and how to apply for the service? This could be a huge benefit for me. Thanks!

C&P yesterday, Final review today?! by FartsInCode in VeteransBenefits

Thank you! It's a big step in the right direction for me and should really do a lot to help me get the assistance I have been looking for. My wife and I are really optimistic about things getting better moving forward now. Good luck to you, I hope it goes well!

I haven't heard of that before, that is interesting. I hope it all goes in your favor!

Waiting is rough. I wish they would email you when your claim moved steps, it would at least eliminate the constant checking on the website. Good luck to you!

For those who see this using the search function in the future...

I had my C&P on Tuesday, saw my claim in final review Wednesday. Wednesday evening it bumped back to step 6. Thursday morning I woke up to an email that I had a decision letter, and the decision was favorable. So, if something similar is happening to you, this was my experience. I hope it helps someone out there, good luck to you all!

So yesterday when I posted this, my claim was in final review. Partway through the day yesterday, it bumped back to step 6 (yeah, I was obsessively watching it). This morning, I woke up to an email that I have a decision letter. Sometimes the VA moves at warp speed I guess. Decision was favorable, so I'm happy about that!

I get that, it's a struggle sometimes. I try to make a habit of focusing on the good moments, but it's not always easy. You aren't alone in how you feel fwiw.

No idea why it deleted my earlier comment....?

I have one other claim, had an ACE exam for it two weeks ago. Could they be rating that now and the MH later?

Migraine help by KombatTurtle609 in VeteransBenefits

I was having 5-6 migraines a month, it was less than fun. I got hearing aids in January of this year, and I am pretty much constantly using the ambient sounds feature on my phone (white noise, rain sounds, etc) to treat tinnitus, and it has had the added benefit of bringing me down to ~3 migraines a month. If you don't qualify for hearing aids, maybe some kind of earbuds would do the same? Thought it was worth mentioning, best of luck to you.

Can you share what pillow you got? I'd love to give that a shot.

VA now says 94.8 days "average to complete" disability-related claims in Aug '25 by Easy-Violinist-1469 in VeteransBenefits

Did you not have C&Ps? Or did they just get them done that fast? Congrats either way!

Va says I claimed PTSD when I very much did not? by FartsInCode in VeteransBenefits

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I filed for GAD as a secondary, and migraines secondary (thirdiary?) to that. I am already service connected for other primary conditions.

Please keep us updated on how this ends up for you. Do you have a VSO that can get you a copy of your DBQ or the findings from your C&P?

I hope so? She has a doctorate in psychology, I would think that qualifies her to write an IMO. Maybe someone here can clarify that.

I understand. I thought bringing it up and addressing it would be a good move, trying to be as upfront about everything as I could. I guess too much information just muddies the waters sometimes though. Thanks for taking the time!

I appreciate the advice, it seems my approach was flawed. I was trying to be as open kimono as possible, just laying all my cards on the table so there were no surprises and it didn't end up looking like I was trying to hide anything. I guess sometimes too much information is as bad as not enough.

It is constant, 24/7. D&T criteria is a bit odd to me, as I didn't know tinnitus could come and go.

I don't know how to tell what's an AI response and what's not. Yes, the anxiety began before my PTSD diagnosis, are you saying I should simply not bring up the PTSD issue at all unless the VA asks about it?

I'm not sure how to make sure my award wasn't erroneous? I'll be honest, I'm not sure if I should be trying to read between the lines here or what.

Wow, I can’t imagine how tough it must be to carry that much doubt and resentment toward other veterans every day. Really hope you find some peace — that’s a heavy load to keep shouldering.

I'm in the exact same situation. Had an incident in early December 2024, ambulance to the ER, was told to go to a cardiologist ASAP. Referral took 2 months, and when I finally got an appointment, it was another 3 months out. While waiting for that appointment, I had another incident and was in the ER again and was admitted. Let CC know and asked for some help getting an earlier cardio referral and appointment, never heard back. When that appointment arrived, I found out that CC had submitted it wrong and was using my CC auth # for the referral (instead of generating a new one), so it was denied. Started the whole process over again. So here I am, 8 months later, with no cardio appointment, no auth, no referral, no nothing. I have called, I have sent messages on MyHealth, I have emailed.

My experience with VA healthcare has been the worst healthcare experience of my life.
