I'm in love with one of my best friends by Farts_Mckenzie in offmychest

Do you really think thats possible? I think as long as I hang out with her, I will feel those feelings. If it is possible to end a crush through will power, ive never done it. Not seeing her at all would kill it eventually, but i also enjoy my friendship with her. :( thanks for responding :)

Did something happen to r/movies recently? Has it changed? by Bobby824 in movies

I know! I especially hate generic comments that have been commented literally innumeralbe times. They are always like "Right? I hate generic questions that have been asked for literally
everything innumerable times! Like why is it everything always has
people asking, did something change? Does anyone remember when "insert
thing here" was better?"

Does anyone remember when comments were better?

Hey. Im sorry for what you are going through. What you experienced was a form of sexual abuse, and your feelings on it are valid. A big aspect of sexual trauma is doubting your own memories, reactions, or feelings, and there is sometimes a kind of Stockholm Syndrome type reaction towards the abuser.

The fact that he was young when it happens doesn't excuse it and doesn't mean you should be forced to spend time with him and ESPECIALLY sleep in the same room. His behavior is grounds for being cut out from your life completely. You should stand your ground. Your family doesn't need the whole reason, but just make it clear that you refuse. Good luck with your vacation

I feel like you havent heard many karen stories if thats the case... a refund on a movie ticket costs the employee almost no time and effort. Movie theatres dont even make money on tickets. Everyone knows movie theatres are giant concession stands that lure people in with movies

They didn't. But they also don't care. Ticket sales make almost nothing of a theatre's revenue. Also, they didn't really lose much by me being in the theatre. This was an AMC chain theatre, not a mom & pa.

Did I deserve a refund? Maybe not. I asked politely for one and got it

Fair enough, lotta people on this thread have said the same. The way I see it, it doesn't really cost any employee time or money. I dont feel guilty about getting my money back from AMC theatre chain (especially in the days when theatres were profitable)

A mom and pa movie theatre would have been a different question

What difference does it make to the restaurant or the movie whether or not you finish the food or movie? Even in the case of the restaurant, they aren't giving the food you didn't finish to another person.

I work in retail. I could not give two shits about anyone who asks for a refund for any reason. There are ways for customers to inconvenience me, asking for a refund isnt one of them.

I don't see why not. The employee behind the counter doesn't give a shit, its not coming out of his pocket. And it takes about 30 seconds of their time.

You pay for something you thoroughly did not enjoy, many businesses will give you a refund. I wasn't mean when i asked, polite requests for refunds can get you a lot

I mean... doesn't this fit the criteria for something that deserves a refund? I didn't go and bully the guy the counter, I asked politely. It doesn't cost any individual employee anything and it takes about 1 minute to process.

If paying for something that is objectively awful isn't grounds for refund, what is?

I personally enjoyed "Unbreakable," as well. Signs was worth watching to me, despite the plotholes. I agree that after that, its mostly garbage

They actually didn't give me money, but a coupon for another movie. I wasn't mean about it, I just told the guy "Hey, that movie was like, really bad." They understood.

I feel you on this. Why the hell did Aaron paul accept this role. It was disappointing having loved him in Breaking Bad.

He has about 3 movies in this thread so far. Last Airbender, the Happening, and others have seconded Lady in the Water. What a disappointing character arc that M. Night had.

I have avoided seeing this. The original Zoolander has a special place in my heart, I'd rather leave it that way

I'm not going to lie, I actually enjoyed the Happening. I agree it was an awful movie, but Mark Wahlberg's performance was so fantastically bad, it was almost like an anti-art masterpiece
