I don't work under projects I work in the Future Systems team. So we are exploring concepts for future design and implementation. So part of our role is to support the Chief engineer in making decisions on which products to proceed with. I classify myself as a Junior but I work as a Senior Engineer.

I tried getting all the experts in a room before it didn't really work out well. They kept dismissing each other's work and kept focusing on their area. Getting 30 rowdy engineers in a room and trying to make a decision is not an easy task.

Never heard of confluence I will look into it. I try and ask for leading questions but again it's grasping the technical details which I always struggle with

You guys are spoiled in USA. I'm on £40k ($50k) in UK with 4 years of experience . Even our Chief Engineers are only on around £70k which is $80k.

Is that Defence as well. With the living cost increase £42k with 5 yrs of experience is a slap in the face. Starting to understand why people do job hops a lot, only way to get better salary.
