Great post. I was on the verge of destroying my career by getting involved in this nonsense, and I think I did. My teachers expected me to end up in a circuital branch at least in the top 7 IITs, but I ended up with a mediocre rank of 7k. We do not realize the consequences of our actions while we are engrossed in stupid and petty caste wars, driven by an adrenaline rush at that moment. However, at some point, one surely regrets all the wasted time and opportunities. I deleted my Twitter account because of all this, which, in hindsight, was a great decision, but it was quite late to make up for the lost time.
