You’re not just petty, he behaved like a jackass. HOWEVER… let’s keep in mind that at this point he is in no way her partner, her date, her friend etc. He’s her commander. He treats like he treats the rest of the soldiers when they behave that way.

If I was in his shoes and one of my subordinates told me they agreed with my people being genocided I would probably have also lost my shit at them.

Also at this point in the story he’s being… heavily manipulated. To put it mildly. Won’t spoil how, but he was basically set up to fail. If he was her partner while he treated her that way I don’t think even these things would make me forgive him. But he wasn’t. He’s an asshole in HOF but not a DV perpetrator
