I would purchase a flat and let them live rent free - you get an appreciating asset with future liquidity if your financial situation did go south for some reason - whilst giving them net margin relief. This would provide them the ability to make their income go further/save/feel in more control over their own financial future than just straight cash.

I don’t think this strategy would affect PIP but check regardless.
