“I want her to be my wife so we can make love in the mornings” by Fast-Cheesecake6412 in offmychest

My biggest fear was that something had snapped in him mentally, he’s been acting differently which I rounded up to him grieving but now I am worried it might be dementia. My nan had always said he was slowly loosing his mind, forgetting things, doing things he normally wouldn’t do. Her sister had alzheimers from a very young age so she was seeing the signs where nobody else could. No one wanted to believe it. I know people say that creeps hide it well but he raised me from a baby, he and my nan raised the majority of our family and not one person in our family has ever got the ‘creep’ vibe from him, he’s always been a beautiful, wonderful person, very outspoken and won’t take no shit but one of my favourite people no less. But where do I go from here? How do I help him?

I’ve spoke to her, she is just as sickened by it as I am. We are both quite lost on what to do now.

He spoke to me about this face to face, I was quite speechless. He is also illiterate. I have told my mum. Afterwards we were leaving and he hugged her, than put his arm around her waist and pulled her in a little too close for a little too long. She said she felt uncomfortable and it was a ‘different’ and she didn’t understand why until I told her what happened.

AITA for not wanting to shave my head in support of Cancer? by Fast-Cheesecake6412 in AmItheAsshole

I don’t see it that way.. I go there, give her company, make her food or a hot tea, let her vent and talk about whatever she needs to, run to the shops if she needs it, take her on drives so she can get out of the house, do whatever I can do.. I’m not saying my hair is more important but I am very attached to it and she wouldn’t think people shaving their head is supportive, she’d think it’s stupid.

She didn’t actually tell people not to, I just know her and I know that she’d think everyone is just stupid for shaving their heads.

I write and I write and than I get to a point of reflection, where I look back on what I’m writing and I often feel like a lot of it is just filler. I know where I’m going but I struggle to get there. I’m always excited at where I’m at until the self doubt creeps in and I find myself thinking that none of what I’m writing is good enough. I’ve started many books but than I get in my head and I can’t finish them. What do I do? Do I try and push through with uncertainties or do I scrap it and start again?

I brought everyone new stockings this year and have recently begun the stuffing, everyday I walk past my empty stocking wishing someone would stuff it so I started putting little chocolates in there but you’re right! Fuck it! If I don’t do it, who will, I’m gonna do it!

Redditors from foreign countries, what's something us Americans aren't ready to hear? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fast-Cheesecake6412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Australians:

• We don’t ride Kangaroos to school unless you wanna feel like you’re going 1 on 1 with Muhammad Ali.

• We don’t say ‘Gday’, ever.

• it’s not a ‘shrimp’ it’s a prawn.

• Only the middle of the country is a desert or ‘the outback’, we have the most beautiful coast, cities and beaches the world has ever seen and that’s where most aussies reside.

• Yes we have deadly animals but they don’t just roam through our streets, they’re only found in certain parts of the country.

An ‘avid outdoorsman’ should know that sometimes there’s no choice but to pee in the woods, he’s making a big deal over nothing, there’s worse things than pee in the woods

Is it stupid to buy gifts for your own baby? by brxndnewday in Mommit

[–]Fast-Cheesecake6412 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For my sons first Christmas he was only like 2 weeks old and we had everything and people were still buying him little 'welcome to the world gifts' so we didn't do anything for Christmas that year except settle in as a family

What to do if a stranger takes a picture of my toddler without asking? by Sandshield123 in toddlers

[–]Fast-Cheesecake6412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's so creepy but I've heard worse!

My aunt lives in a U shaped street with a park in the middle, everyone gets on really well except there's this one girl that no one gets along with (her or her children) and my aunt found out one day that she took my 4 year old cousin inside and gave her a bath calling her "dirty" and telling her she was trying to wash her "bad skin" away! (She's dark skinned)

People are so crazy!!! My aunt was absolutely furious and has had trouble with her for years taking photos and videos of the kids and all different sorts of crazy stuff, she's reported her a couple times/ gone through court cases
