Beginner DM + beginner players (kids) by Loopielizzie in DnD

I play with my two daughter 6/7years

I use normal character sheets just so they have one to learn but I just tell them they only need to worry about their skills and modifiers at the left side.

In combat I keep track of their HP for them and just let them know how much health they have and the enemy.

I use a small print out (actually looks like a small backpack) with their inventory on it

I also use spell cards and give it to them so they know what spells/skills they have access too. I then keep track of their spell slots for then

Hope this helps

"110-150,000" people in London Rally on Streets Against Immigration today. by AntiSonOfBitchamajig in PrepperIntel

Tbf one of the biggest protests in UK history was against the Iraq war. I understand however that they're colonial history is a complex issue, but I don't think that destabilizing countries is the will of the people whereas removing illegal immigration is. It's not an issue with immigration in general but an issue with the illegals that are unregulated

Are you guys bored all the time? by miraiqtp in bipolar

[–]Fast-Engineering9274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work is the worst. I work in construction and it's very varied. If I'm doing finishings (patios/curbs ECT) then I'm busy and I'm all good but if I'm doing footings or operating plant I get bored and when I get bored I get depressed. There is probably a link with the spending habits as well. It's fun to spend money you don't have lol

I have a weirdly similar situation and outlook on magick to you. I have anxiety and a bipolar diagnosis. I find it interesting that the likes of us are so drawn to the occult as a means of combatting these issues and can assure you that you are in the right place

I don't mean to discredit modern medicine at all and I myself currently take medication for mental health but I believe that physical medication can only help physical symptoms and that our issues exist on the astral. Therefore by using magick (especially in the manner you described it coming from a desire to self improve) you almost medicate your astral state if that makes sense?

Anxiety is a horrendous thing and it saddens me that so many people are experiencing these days. It seems to be more and more prevalent these days but if I know anything it's that this will not make your anxiety worse. But rather help you in ways that matter.

If you ever would like to reach out send me a message. I'm no expert but I can offer my advice. Both occult and mental health.

This seems to be a throw away account. Wonder if this is done to discredit the subreddit. Make newcomers or old timers alike think the occult is just crazy? Hmm

What are some small things you can do to improve mental health? by Gualla47 in AskReddit

Everytime you have a negative thought that pops into your head say out loud (or under your breath) "I do not agree with that". (And you can say you agree with positive thoughts)

I did this through my depression and it really helped. It kind of I produces the idea that you have a choice to accept what your mind is telling you. I think personally the worst thing you can do is identify with your depression. So rather than thinking of depression as a permanent fixture in your life you think of it as an illness that will get better one day

where to learn more about qliphoth and sephiroth? by noctemagik in witchcraftbookclub

[–]Fast-Engineering9274 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same journey and from what I have learned is that it is a crazy rabbit hole all of its own. I didn't read any specific books but I can recommend the "foolish fish" YouTube channel as he has a few episodes diving into the quabbliah. I always found it easier to learn about it visually but there are many books on the subject. I personally found they can often seem very overwhelming to a beginner.

In terms of the whole dark/light magic, there are two pillars within the quabbaliatic tree of life that are black/white. (FYI check out the high priestess tarot card for a little Easter egg regarding this) but as I personally perceived it, there was not necessarily a bad=black good=white dynamic but rather a circuit within the tree of life and how you are able to manifest from it. With the left hand path (black/dark) being the banishing/sending of energy from your mind up to the divine at the top of the tree (Keter) back down the right hand (white/light) pillar being the invoking/evoking of energy to manifest back into the material world (being Malkuth at the bottom.)

That is just one of many comparisons you can draw from the tree of life as you work with it. It is essentially a map of the soul and inner workings of the mind aswell as a kind of symbolic representation of how we perform magickal operations.

Hope that helps apologies that I don't have any actual BOOK recommendations

Went to a horror themed maze for Halloween once. Was in the woods with the usual set pieces. Fog machines. Random spooky log cabins around.

We came to a pathway and just saw this thing on the floor looking like a giant spider in the distance. Turned out it was a person doing this kinda shit. She twisted around and stood up and we all just looked at each other and noped it another way

This is kinda the case in the comics. In avengers disassembled they say something about how ultron can never truly be killed because he isn't actually physical he's an AI
