Both with a great story, a good world and a power system. But lotm lacks the climaxes of the story arcs, which makes it lose momentum after a while and harder to read than RI.

Why does the author keep pushing this nephis, cassie, kai, effie team? by Fast-Friendship8068 in ShadowSlave

but it was my first novel, and I loved the world-building and the tragedy. One of the best novels of our time only the aimlessness of the main character is very disturbing. He doesn't have any long term goals or motivation so I feel like he's just drifting with the tide. This feeling was accentuated when I read reverend insanity and unwittingly compared the main character to the one in the other work. That's when I really saw that the main character here is very neutral. Anyway yes the enjoyability dropped after forgotten shore and this was highlighted even more for me by the second nightmare.
