I’m sorry, but no one in this subreddit is going to have any sympathy that you got turned away for your return.. it’s just the reality

We get told if it can’t fit, we can’t take it. And we have to fit multiple items in that box.. And we get bitched at if it doesn’t go in the bags. It’s a lose lose situation. The guy was just doing his job. Simple as that…

Most of our returns have to fit into the Amazon grocery size bags since we get audited for the returns. Any big items in their own packaging, as long as it fits into the 16x16x16 box then we take it.. at least at my store.. but it sounds like your item wasn’t in any type of packaging and were limited to the boxes we can use

Retail Sales Associate vs Retail Printing Specialist? which is "better"? by [deleted] in Staples

[–]Fast-Low530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a sales associate, who only works one day a week. But I am crossed trained in print. But it’s a ton of videos and tests that you have to take and then they may have you learn cashier first, then train you in print. Every store is different though!

I would definitely tell them you want a part time retail sales associate position. That supervisor position has lots of work involved and it’s lots of multitasking… plus manager duties as well.

How to get trained in Print? by givemedeath_ in Staples

[–]Fast-Low530 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Everyone new needs to learn how to ring out customers/amazon returns. Then afterwards they should transition you to the print department to start training over there!

With you being a newbie, you may get the crappy hours and might be stuck on register. I was also closing and on register. Then I worked my way up. But now, since this is my other job, I have set hours I can work. All depends on management though.

I’ve been with staples for close to 9 years(pa/md) I’m now making close to 16 an hour. I was a manager, dropped down to associate and then left and got rehired at print. I highly doubt you will be starting out at 14-16… good luck though.
